"So I hear that you want to stop some hunters." The alpha pack's leader, Will remarks. I face the voice that follows with the statement. His appearance let's off the sense of empowerment over the others. Behind him, he leads seven others.
"Are you done building on your army?" Ian asks. I glance at him.
"The more, the better. We have an advantage on my family. They won't know what's coming to them." I reply sharply.
"So, your family is the enemy, huh?" A male pipes from the back of the crowd. Max, a brunette along with the other males, stands out with his not so muscular appearance.
"They aren't amateurs, they've attempted to kill my pack before. Let's just say, that coming from that family, I know some of their tactics." I explain. A girl, around thirty walks out from the back of the group. Her eyes stare deep into mine. Showing no emotion, she walks closer to me. She places her warm palm on my cheek. She sucks me into a memory.
"We can't keep her here, knowing what she is. She'll hurt Leah." Mom speaks.
"She's just a teenager, Maria." Dad replies softly.
"She's hanging around with Garth, the leader of the Night Hounds pack. She's going to end up hurting Leah." Mom explains to him. His stance doesn't change, he doesn't want his daughter to die, either of them.
"Do you want Leah to die?" Mom asks. Dad shakes his head and replies,
"God no, that's not what I want at all."
"That's why we have to drive her out of here." Mom explains in simpler words.
"Where is Leanne anyway?" Dad asks, looking around the room. They rush upstairs, they run into a room that seems to be a nursery. Leanne was holding me close to her chest.
"Leanne, get away from her!" Mom exclaims.
"She was crying, if I didn't come in here and hold her, she would've continued crying." Leanne explains.
"Give me my child." Mom demands. Leanne hands her to mom.
"Stop thinking that I would ever hurt my baby sister. I'm more of a maternal figure than you are." Leanne snaps.
"For the safety of your sister, you have to leave. I can't have you wolfing out and losing control on her." Dad speaks softly.
"Dad, you seriously think that I would ever hurt her? I hunt wild animals, I would never hurt her." Leanne replies.
She pulls me out of the flashback. Tears flood my eyes, showing a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes. I take in a deep breath, my sister is standing in front of me. My hands reach my mouth, I cover my mouth and cry. She pulls me close to her. I didn't even know I had another sister, I thought I just had Melanie.
"Shortly after, I left. All of the pictures with me had been destroyed, like I never existed." She states.
"You're Leah's sister?" Jack asks. Leanne nods.
"We've got work to do, especially because I just caught a human scent." Rosalyn announces. I wipe the tears away and pull myself together.
All of us crowd together.
"Jack and I will go to my house, we will try to devise a treaty with them. If that doesn't work, we will come back here and fight." I announce.
"You want the rest of us to just wait for you?" Max asks in disbelief.
"Yes, it shouldn't be hard to sit and do nothing." Jack snaps.
"I want to go with you." Garrison pipes.
"No, stay here. We will be fine, Jack and I can take care of ourselves." I assure him. He walks to me and pulls me close to him. His eyes trace over mine. His lips meet mine, softly. I push away from him.
"I promise you I will be fine." I say softly. He nods.
"I'm holding you to that." He replies.
