I wake feeling a little better than before, despite a pounding migraine reeking havoc on my head. I open my eyes and see that Garrison isn't in the room. I struggle to get out of bed, the sheets smell like him, the sweet smell of cologne and aftershave.
Still in yesterday's clothes, I shuffle across the floor and grab a fresh outfit. I quickly shower, watching as the water droplets run down my skin.
Afterwards, I dress and head outside.
The cool air hugs my body. My attention is grabbed when I suddenly hear groaning and grunting. I sprint to the backyard, my chest rising and falling quickly.
"Morning sleepy head." Garrison greets. He's got Brent in a headlock. Ian and Cameron practice punching. Jack sits on the sidelines.
"Are you feeling any better?" Jack asks, I nod and shake off the feelings I experienced last night.
"Yeah, just a nightmare." I reply, I look at the exact spot that it happened. Back further in the woods, surrounded by dead trees.
After a moment of silence from Jack and I, I notice he's still on the sidelines.
"Why aren't you training?" I ask him. He looks up at me and shrugs.
"Haven't found a partner to match my strengths, I guess." He replies.
"Sure." I reply in disbelief.
"What? You think you can beat me?" He asks. I look down at the ground than back at him.
"Only one way to find out." I snap. He sighs and gets up from his seat. I jump up and down for a small boost of energy and blood flow. He proceeds to crack every knuckle in his hands and neck.
"This is going to be good... my money is on Leah!" Ian jokes. All of the guys huddle around us.
"Rules; wolfing out is allowed, no hard feelings afterwards, and most importantly, no major damage to either person." Cameron states.
Jack raises his fists in front of his body, I do the same. He wolfs out first, sharp teeth replace his human ones, his eyes change, claws grow over his fingernails, fur sprouts all over his body.
I take a deep breath and look straight into his eyes. His chest heaves up and down. I step closer to him and swing first. He curves it and grabs my hand.
"What's wrong, Jack? Afraid to hit me back?" I ask, he laughs at my remark.
"This fight is already boring, how can we make this interesting?" He asks. He pulls me closer to him until we are two inches apart. I watch his wandering eyes fall to my ring, he smirks.
He pushes me away for a moment and goes for Garrison. He grabs Garrison's wrist and flips him. Garrison falls hard to his back, he reaches up to punch Jack. Jack grabs his fist and pushes it away. With his claws out, Jack raises his hand to the air, then lightly slashes Garrison's chest.
"Get the hell away from him!" I exclaim. I run to Garrison and Jack. I grab Jack's neck in my hand and push him back. His feet fumble against the ground, his back hits a tree. I growl harshly. My grip on his neck tightens.
"What's happening to me?" I ask Jack. My anger is taking over. Jack gasps for air.
"Leah, calm down." Brent pleads gently.
"I can't, something is wrong with me." I reply. Garrison looks at me with terror striking his eyes. What if I accidentally kill one of them?
"It's the full moon, your strength is more powerful. Your bond with Garrison is stronger since he imprinted." Cameron explains.
"When you see something happening to Garrison, your whole body turns to attack mode." Brent replies.
"Garrison, get up. Slowly walk over to her." Jack mumbles under his breath, Garrison does as he says.
"Leah, let Jack go." Garrison orders lightly. I release my grip on his neck. Jack falls to his hands and knees, sucking in harsh breaths.
"Does that mean I won?" I mock Jack.
"Please, its only just begun." Jack replies, before I know it, I'm on the ground. His legs kick mine out from underneath of me.
"I think it's only fair if the two love birds try it." Ian suggests. I smirk and look at Garrison.
"So if I'm fighting him, I won't go all Wolverine on him?" I cautiously ask Jack. He shakes his head.
"Look, I'm not going to fight you. I don't want to hurt you." Garrison speaks up. I raise an eyebrow.
"You seriously think that I'm going to get hurt by you?" I ask.
"You might." He replies.
"Babe, I can heal, you can heal. We'll be fine." I assure him. He nods and replies,
"Okay, but if I see any expression of pain, I'm stopping."
"Same rules as before; no foul play, wolfing out is allowed, and no hard feelings afterwards." Cameron states.
We both take a deep breath and begin taking hits. Throwing punches towards each other. I grab Garrison's fist, slightly twisting it. He grabs my hips and brings me close to him. I smirk.
"Don't lose focus, Leah." Jack warns.
"Trust me Jack- I won't." I reply, pushing Garrison's chest. His feet drag against the cool ground. He runs to me, smiling the entire time. His claws come out. Mine do too.
"For werewolves, you aren't fighting like ones." Ian mocks. We both claw at each other, he grabs me and wraps his arms around my midline. His strong muscles contract on my body. I kick my foot behind me, knowing exactly where I hit. He drops to the ground in pain. I smile like a victor.
"Damn, no mercy there!" Cameron states. All of the guys gulp in fear that I would do it to them.
"I see you've taken the initiative to begin training." Rosalyn states, walking out of the woods with her pack. Along with her pack, were nine more people. Four guys and four girls, all ready to kill. I take a deep breath and smile.
"Now it's a party!" Ian exclaims. Hopefully with the advantage of seventeen people, we can take the hunters down.
