Chapter 19

We drove home after we ate. This car was silent the whole ride home. Nash just kept his eyes on the road, Becca and Hayes had their headphones in together, and I just sat there.

We got out of the car and went inside. It was about 9pm. I had one more day off from school, then on Friday I had to go back to school. I was actually missing school.

I sat on the couch and put my headphones in. Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran came on.

'Give me love like her

Cause lately I've been waking up alone

Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt

Told you I'd let them go

And that I'll fight my corner

Maybe tonight I'll call ya

After my blood turns into alcohol

"Haley." Hayes tapped on my shoulder.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Nash is devastated you won't even look at him. I think you should talk to him." I thought hard. Maybe I should.

"Okay.." Nash was outside on the back porch.

I had a really pretty backyard. It looked like a fairy tale scene. I had a tunnel of flowers, vines, and trees that led to a fountain. It was gorgeous at night. The stars and moon sparkled off the water. The cobblestone oath lit the way.

I stepped outside. I was two weeks until summer, and Summer break. It was about 65 degrees. I heard rain in the distance. This night was gorgeous.

I didn't see Nash so I figured he followed the path. I walked down the path and saw Nash sitting on the fountain edge. He looked sad, almost guilty. I couldn't see his bright blue eyes. I walked over to to opposite side of the fountain as him and sat down. I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to say. So I just sighed somewhat loudly to let him know I was here.

"Hayes, please- I just want to be alone right now." He said quietly.

"It's not Hayes." He looked over at me.

"Haley?" He looked surprised.

"Hi.." I said softly.

"I'm sorry."

"I know. I am too."

"You don't need to be. You're not the one that cheated." I winced at the word.

"I forgive you then."

"Thanks.." He got up and sat next to me. I felt his arms wrap around me. I leaned into his shoulder. I felt safe, as weird as it sounded. We just sat there, staring at the glistening water in the fountain, listening to the rain getting closer and closer.

After five minutes, I felt a raindrop his my hand. I love the rain. It made me relax, comfortable, and amazing. The sound if rain, the smell of rain, the sight of rain. I loved it all too much. Nash felt one too. He looked at his arm to make sure it just wasn't imagining it. He looked at me.

"Can we just stay out here?" I whispered.

"Yeah." He replied. We sat there. Out of nowhere, it starts pouring. We became drenched in seconds time. Nash and I just looked at each other.

After a couple of moments of looking into each other's eyes, our faces got closer and closer. Our lips met, we were kissing. I slowly closed my eyes. We kissed, and kissed, and kissed.

CRASH! Thunder brought Nash and I back to reality. It felt like we had ran off to Neverland. We stood up and started walking back to the house, hand in hand.

As we walked in the door, Becca and Hayes were smiling. They were obviously glad we were back together.

"You guys should change clothes.." Becca started.

"We will." Nash said. We both ran upstairs and into my room. Lightning flashed and lit up my room.

"Nash, I have to change."

"Then change. I'll cover my eyes." He smirked. I ignored his grin and pulled out sleeping pants and a tank top. I changed quickly because knowing him, he was probably looking.

"Done." I said.

"About time. My turn." I guess he was comfortable because he started taking off his pants. I covered my face and giggled.

"Done." He said. I uncovered my face as he was taking off his wet shirt. He has a nice body, truthfully. I bit my lip and blushed. He grinned and sat down next to me. I turned on music. It was softly playing In the background of the rain bouncing off my window. He laid down next to me and we both fell asleep on my bed.
