Chapter 41

Once we went back to Cameron's room, we just sat and talked. Matt was on the couch. Everyone was gathered around him. I tried to see behind everyone what he was doing.

"Come sit on my lap." Matt said.

"Okay." I smiled and sat on his lap. Everyone was watching MagCon over again. They recorded all of it. It was the part where Shawn and I were singing. I stood up after it was all over.

"I'm going to change to pajamas. I'll be back in a minute." I told everyone.

"I'm going to go with you, Haley." Shawn replied and walked by me.

"Okay." We walked to my shared room.

"Before you change, can you come with me to the lobby really quick?" He asked.

"Sure, yeah." We walked down the couple flights of stairs to the lobby. There were a bunch of girls with their phones out.

"Shawn!!" They screamed and he laughed softly.

"Hi guys!" Shawn yelled.

"I love you!" A bunch of people yelled.

"Form a line outside and I will try to talk to and get pictures with as many as I can with you. Haley will also join."

"Sounds great!" I told him. After a couple moments, we started the quest.

We took pictures with everyone. I couldn't believe we made it through the entire line. There was about 150 people. At the end of the line were a couple of magazine employees wanting pictures of Shawn and I. He wrapped his arm around my waist and I did the same to him. We smiled as flashes came from all directions.

"This is so much fun, meeting fans." I whispered in his ear. We smiled and looked at each other.

"Are you guys dating?

What happened to Matt and Haley?

Shawn, I thought you were single?" Magazine reporters asked.

"We're just friends, really good friends." I told them.

"Yeah, she's dating Matt." He told them. After that, we walked back to the hotel room so I could change. I put on a pair of black baggy sweatpants that said Love in cheetah print on the side. I put on a thin t shirt.

We walked back to Cam's hotel room.

"HALEY! SHAWN!" They all yelled. I was confused.

"What?" We asked.

"I thought you were kidnapped." Nash laughed.

"You kissed her! You kissed him!" Matt yelled at Shawn and I. He ran up to Shawn and showed him a picture. It was went I whispered in Shawn's ear and he was looking at me so it looked like we were kissing.

"We weren't-" I was cut off by Matt yelling.

"We're done! You cheated on me with Shawn! Wonder what else you've done behind my back with him..." Matt yelled. His face was red with anger. Everyone else was silent and staring at us. I looked at Shawn who was just as surprised as I was.

"Matt-" I started and bit my lip, which was trembling. Why would he think I would kiss someone else? I walked out the door and back to my room. Shawn followed me. I grabbed my phone and took the elevator to the lobby and walked outside. Shawn caught up next to me.

"I never meant for this to happen, honestly." He said.

"It's fine. I'm just shocked." He nodded in agreement. We walked to a nearby park with no one at it. I pulled out my phone to see the time. 9pm already? Wow. The sky had a couple stars but I could see it still setting in the distance. I sat on a picnic table and brought my knees to my chest. Shawn sat next to me.

"Are you cold?" He asked.

"Kind of." He took off his hoodie and handed it to me.

"Here, wear it." I took it and slipped it on.

"Thank you." He sat close to me. I put my head on his shoulder, in a friendly way. He rested his head on mine and we just looked at the stars. They twinkled in the night sky. The street lights snapped on. They were too far to really light up the playground. We sat there for a half hour more. My phone vibrated. It was Aaron calling. I answered it and put it on speaker phone.

"Where are you? Are you okay? Is Shawn with you?" He asked.

"I'm at a park, I guess I'm okay. Yeah, Shawn's with me." I replied.

"I'm right here." Shawn said to the phone.

"Come back please. Matt is a wreck. He saw the same picture from a different angle and saw you were only talking. He is really sorry. Please come back."

"I'll be back in a couple minutes." I ended the call.

"Are you going to forgive him?" Shawn asked.

"No. He didn't even let me tell him anything."

"Let's go."

We walked back to Cameron's hotel room. Matt wasn't in there.

"He is in your hotel room." Dillon told me.

"Okay."

"Are you going to sleep in the same room as him tonight?" Nash asked.

"No." I responded.

"Where are you going to sleep?" Shawn asked.

"You can sleep in here on the couch." Cameron said.

"Daddy Dallas to the rescue." Hayes laughed. Cam laughed too.

"Thank you." He nodded. I texted Becca.

H- Pack me a cute outfit for tomorrow, my makeup, and my hair things In a bag. I'm sleeping in Cam, Nash, Hayes, and Shawn's room.

B- Okay. But why is Matt here crying and you not in here?

H- He thought I cheated on him with Shawn and broke up with me. Then found out I wasn't cheating.

B- Makes a bunch of sense.

H- I'll come grab my bag. Just have it ready so I can be in there for like two seconds.

B- Tell me when your outside the door.

I walked out of the room and to mine. I stood outside it for a minute and took a deep breath.

H- I'm outside the door.

B- Come in.

I opened the door and Matt was surrounded by the other guys. His face red. Eyes swollen. I fast walked to Becca, grabbed my bag, and headed back to the door. Matt's eyes caught mine. I felt locked. My heart broke to a million pieces. Our shared glimpse only lasted less than a second but it felt like hours. I walked out and shut the door behind me.
