Chapter 26

*Haley's POV*

I laid down in this uncomfortable bed, listening to familiar voices faint in the background. I feel someone take my hand and hold is, tears hitting it and rolling down softy. I try to move, talk, or at least open my eyes. But I can't. I'm unable to do anything but breathe. Why am I here? What even happened?

I hear people walk out the room and then a voice. Becca's.

"Haley, you are my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you. You have always been there for me. I will be here for you. I have no clue if you can even hear me, but I might as well try. I just can't deal with things without you..." I heard sobs and people walk back into the room. Voices are faint as I fall back "asleep".

I open my eyes to being alone in the room. I try to move my body but everything hurts. The breathing mask is on my face. Moments later, the nurse walked in.

"Haley, I see you finally decided to wake up after 5 days. Your friends will be back in just a few moments." The nurse, Lucy, told me. I heard the door open and running footsteps. I try to turn my head but it hurts too much.

"Haley!" Becca screams. I wince, my head is throbbing. I actually turn my head to see Nash, Hayes, and Becca. Sam must've gone home or to work.

"Haley-" Nash's voice cracks.

"Nash?" He gets up and walks over to me. I suddenly remember everything. He cheated, again. I broke up with him moments after I found out. I close my eyes and see everything replaying. 'bitch' kept playing in my mind. He pulled up a chair next to me and say down. He took his hand and intertwined our fingers. I felt safe. I didn't really care at this point. I smiled.

"You should go to sleep." The nurse suggested. I nodded. I laid back down, but didn't let go of Nash. In minutes, I fell fast asleep.
