Chapter 2 •Curly Headed Cutie•

Annie's POV

I can't believe what I just witnessed. Hayden actually punched Drake in the nose just for picking on me. I wonder what's going to happen to Hayden. He shouldn't of punched him but I didn't want him getting into any trouble.

"Mrs. Johnson?" I said as I raised up my hand.

"Yes, Annie?" She said looking up from her computer.

"Can I be excused?" I asked trying to sound very polite.

"May I ask why?"

Ugh, why does she have to keep answering with a question.

"I....umm....I...have to use the bathroom! Yeah like really bad!" Great job being chill about it, Annie.

"Okay, here is a pass" She said as I got up out of my chair.

I took the pass and went straight to the principal's office. I looked through the window to see Hayden and his dad sitting down. The principal was saying something to Hayden and his dad was just there crossing his arms. After about 2 minutes they got up and started walking towards the door. Oh no! I started to walk fast towards the classroom.

"Annie?" I turned around to see Hayden.

"Oh hey Hayden. I was just coming back from the uh...t-the bathroom! Yeah bathroom!"

Get yourself together Annie.

"Oh okay." He said with no expression.

"Come on Hayden. We are going home now! Say bye to your girlfriend so we can go." Hayden's dad said.

He sounded really mad.

"She's not my girlfriend, dad! And for the last time I was only protecting her from this guy." Hayden said.

This is all my fault.

"I don't care, Hayden! You punched the guy in his nose! You know better than that. Now let's go." Hayden's dad said walking away.

"Fine." Hayden said turning around. He hesitated and then ran over to me and passed me a piece of paper.

"This is my number. I'll try to text you later if i can. My dad's pretty mad at me right now since I got suspended for the rest of the day. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He said.

"Okay." I said with a half smile.

He turned around and caught up with his dad. I sighed, turned around and walked back to class.

Lunch finally came and I sat by Kenzie (Mackenzie), Jayden, Johnny.

"Hey Jayden, Mackenzie, and Johnny." I said sitting down.

"Hey." They said.

"Not trying to be rude but who are these guys?" I asked pointing at the other people at the table.

"This is Dylan and her brother Caden." Jayden said pointing at a girl with long hair and a boy with freckles.

I waved at them.

"This is Carson, Lexi, Brooke, Greg and Rush." He said pointing at the other people.

"Hey Annie where's Hayden?" Jayden asked.

"He kinda got suspended for the rest of the day." I said looking down.

"What!?" Everyone said.

I looked at everyone and told them the whole story.
