Chapter 20 •The End•

Annie's POV

I ran upstairs crying and knocked on one of the doors. Josie answered.

I walked in and gave her a hug.

"W-Where's Hayden?" She asked.

That's when we heard a loud noise. The gunshot.

I bursted out crying and we heard the front door open. We walked out of the room and walked downstairs to see policemen. They were holding the man. Then there was a siren. I looked outside to see the ambulance. They came in with a stretcher. Soon everyone came downstairs and we sat down on a couch. We watched the ambulance come out of the room with Hayden on the stretcher. He looked really pale and lifeless.

Caleb, Dylan, and I made it to the hospital and asked the lady at the desk for Hayden's room number. Everyone else went home.

While I was walking over to his room, someone tapped me on my shoulder. I turned around to see a lady with blonde hair. She kind of looked like Hayden.

"Hi." She said.

"Hi?"

"Are you Annie?" She asked.

"Yes..." I answered.

"I'm Hayden's mom. You can call me Ms Tisha." She said.

"Oh nice to meet you." I said sticking out my hand so she could shake it.

She shook my hand.

"Are you on your way to Hayden's room?" She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"Can I walk with you?"

"Of course." I said.

Dylan turned around and saw his mom. He ran up to her and gave her a hug.

"I missed you so much." He said.

"I missed you too sweetie."

After they were done with their reunion, we walked to Hayden's room and saw Hayden laying on the bed with wires and tubes. Ms Tisha walked over to Mr Jimmy and gave him a hug.

"Is he going to be okay?" I asked.

"Yes. It's a miracle." Mr Jimmy said.

I sighed in relief and half smiled.

"So when can he come out?" I asked.

"In 2 more days. He'll have to keep coming back though. He got shot in his shoulder." Ms Tisha said.

"My shoulder hurts." We heard someone say.

I turned around to see Hayden sitting up.

"Hayden!" I said running up to his bed.

"Do you feel okay sweetie?" Ms Tisha asked.

"Mom?"

"Oh Hayden. What did you get yourself into?" She asked with a little laugh.

"I had to. He was going to shoot Annie." Hayden said looking at me.

I gave him a smile.

"Do you feel okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. Especially since my mom's here." He said with a smile.

"I'm not the only one who's here." Ms Tisha said.

Hayden's POV

I looked at her confused. Then Hunter and Jimmy walked in.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"We had to see our little bro." Hunter said.

"Yeah. We might not be that close, but we're brothers." Jimmy said.

"Thanks guys." I said.

"No problem. Now are you ready for the movie?" Jimmy asked.

"What movie?" Annie asked.

"Who's this?" Hunter asked.

"This is Annie." I said.

"Nice to meet you Hayden's girlfriend." Hunter said shaking her hand.

"We aren't dating." Annie said with a laugh.

"Oh my mistake." Hunter said.

"It's fine."

"So you guys are friends right?" Jimmy asked.

I nodded.

"Do you like her?" He asked me.

All eyes went on me.

"When are we gonna watch the movie?" I asked changing the subject.

"Well, we asked the nurses if they could put a tv in here." Hunter explained.

"It also gives you enough time to answer the question." Jimmy added.

"We're just friends. Right Hayden." Annie asked looking at me.

"Yeah...friends." I answered.

Soon a nurse came in with a tv.

"Wow she's strong." I whispered to Annie.

Annie nodded.

The nurse put the tv on a table and set it up.

"What movie would you like to watch?" She asked.

Everyone looked at me so I could answer.

"Meet The Robinsons." I answered.

She put the movie on and handed my dad the remote.

"Enjoy the movie. And remember that visiting hours are over in 2 hours!" She said walking out.

My dad, mom, Caleb, Dylan, Hunter, and Jimmy sat on couches while Annie sat on my bed.

She turned around and looked at me.

"Great movie choice." She whispered.

"I know right!" I said pretending to flip my hair.

She laughed a little.

"Hey, thanks for saving me." She said putting her hand on mine.

I looked at it and smiled.

"No problem Anns. I'll Always Be There For You." I said.
