Chapter 10 •Friends Aren't Supposed To Lie•

Hayden's POV

I was sitting on the couch waiting for Dylan to get home. I heard him sneak out and I wanna know where he went. I heard the door open and Dylan was standing there.

"Where have you been?" I asked getting up.

"I went to Caleb's house." He said closing the door.

"You didn't tell him about the situation right?" I was hoping he didn't.

"Hayden I had to tell him. He's going to talk to Annie tonight." He told me.

"Talk about what Dylan? Annie and I aren't friends anymore and she wants it that way." I answered.

"Do you want it that way?" He asked.

"Of course not but that's sometimes how things are." I said.

"Hayden you need to talk to her tomorrow or even text her." He said.

"She won't text me back. I've already tried like 100 times." I said.

"Well then talk to her tomorrow. I'm sure she'll let you explain. Plus this would be the perfect time to tell her your feelings."

"I'll try to talk to her but I'm definitely not telling her that I like her." I started.

"Wait how did you know that I like her." I asked.

"Everyone knows. It's so obvious." He said.

Is it really that obvious?!

"She likes you too. You know that right?" He asked.

"No she doesn't Dylan."

What is he thinking?

"Whatever Hayden." He said.

Annie's POV

Caleb talked to me last night. Apparently Dylan came over and explained what happened. He kept telling me to forgive Hayden and just forget about what happened. I told him that I'll try to talk to him today. The problem is, how do I approach him?

Hey I'm really sorry I didn't let you explain so can you explain now?

You probably hate me but can we talk?

I was interrupted by Jayden calling me.

"Annie? Annie?" Jayden said interrupting my thoughts.

"Yeah?" I answered.

"It's your turn to get your food." She said pointing at the food.

"Oh yeah sorry." We got our food and got out of the lunch line.

"So are we sitting with the squad?" She asked.

I hesitated. "Yeah let's go." I said walking towards the table.

"Hey guys." Jayden said.

They said hi back and we sat down.
