Chapter 7 •Trampoline Park•

Annie's POV

I don't know how I feel about Hayden so I decided to say no.

"No. He's like a brother to me." I said.

I don't like him in that way but he definitely isn't a brother to me.

"Brother!?" Everyone except Hayden said.

"Yeah. It would be really weird if we were together." I said confidently.

"Hayden don't you feel bro zoned?" Johnny asked.

"No she's like a s-sister to me." He said struggling to say.

I just got family zoned by Hayden. I kinda deserve it since I technically family zoned him first.

There was a long silence until Hayden got up and went outside.

"I'll go see what's up." Johnny said.

Hayden's POV

I sat outside thinking about what just happened. Annie just family zoned me.
Then the door opened.

"Hey Hayden what's up." Johnny said closing the door.

"Nothing." I lied.

"Come on. Tell me what's wrong." Johnny said.

"Annie." I said sighing.

"What about her?" He asked.

"I'm like a brother to her." I said.

"And she's like a sister to you right?" He asked.

"No! She's not even close to a sister. I think I like her." I said staring at the lake.

"You like her?" Johnny said as his eyes got wide.

I nodded and he did a happy dance.

"Chill. It's not a big deal." I said.

"It's not a big deal? You actually like someone! I've been waiting for this day!" He shouted.

"If you say that a little louder I think all of Maryland could hear you." I said sarcastically.

"I need to tell everyone! My mom, dad, sisters, Caden, Rush, Greg, Car-"

"No you won't." I said.

"Fine you're secret is safe with me." Johnny said.

"Thanks bro." I said giving him a bro hug.

"No problem. Now let's go inside. It's cold out here." Johnny said shivering.

"Yeah okay." I said opening the door.

We got inside and all eyes turned to us.

"You okay Hayden?" Annie asked.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said with a half smile.

We decided not to play truth or dare just in case there were questions that didn't want to be asked.

We decided to watch a movie.

"Ok so who wants to watch Annabelle" Lexi asked.

We all said yes and Lexi played the movie.

A scary part came on and Annie got scared.

"It'll be okay, Anns." I said putting my arm around her.

She laid her head on my shoulder and we continued to watch the movie.

"Just look at them. Brother and sister huh?" I heard Caden whisper.
