Chapter 3 •The Best Hugger Ever•

Hayden's POV

I woke up to my alarm clock beeping again. I remembered my conversation with Annie last night. I smiled just thinking about her. I never thought a girl could be so perfect. I got the energy to get up and change. I went downstairs and got some breakfast.

"Come on Dylan!" I yelled. He was dropping me to school today and I didn't want to be late.

"Coming!" He yelled running down the stairs.

We got in his car and he parked by the middle school area. We both got out of the car and said bye to each other. He started to walk by the high school area and I walked to class.

My first period was social studies. I turned the doorknob and all eyes went on me. The teacher wasn't in here yet so everyone was talking. I saw Annie and smiled. She smiled back and I sat next to her.

"Hey." She said.

"Hi Anns." I said putting down my bag.

"The whole school knows about me, don't they?" I asked as everyone was looking at me whispering.

"Yeah...even my brother and he's in 11th grade." She said.

"My brother is in 11th grade too." I said wondering who her brother was.
(Dylan is 16 in this story)

"His name is Caleb." She said.

"My brother's name is Dylan." I said. The name Caleb sounds very familiar.

"Dylan? I think my brother has mentioned that name before." She said thinking.

"Caleb sounds familiar too." I said.

"Maybe they're friends or something." She said.

"Yeah, maybe." I said.

The teacher came in the classroom and immediately looked at me.

"Mr Summerall, will there be any punching today?" Mrs Taylor asked.

Even the teachers know? This isn't a good start to the year.

"No ma'am." I said gulping.

"Good. I will be watching you like a hawk. CAAAAWWW CAAAWWWW!!" She said.

She looked crazy when she tried to sound like a hawk. It was scary. The whole class laughed, except Annie.

"Y-yes ma'am."

This woman is crazy.

"Anyways, let's get started the assignment!" She said excitedly.

The whole class groaned.

"Don't worry! You'll have partners!" She said.

Hopefully Annie is mine.

"Jack and Celia.........and last but not least. Annie and Hayden." She said looking up from her list.
(What a coincidence 😏😂)

Yes! Annie is my partner!! I looked at Annie and she smiled. I smiled back.

"So since we are in this noisy classroom, should we work on the project after school?" I asked.

"Yeah we can go to my house after school. I would go to yours, but your dad...." She said.

"I understand. Your house at 4:30?" I suggested.

"Yeah." She said and we got to work.

We were going to do a skit and pretend to have war. I was going to be Great Britain and she was America. We were going to try to act out the American Revolutionary War.
