Chapter 16 •Thanksgiving•

Annie's POV

Life is.....okay. Hayden and Jayden are still dating and are not in the squad anymore. We never really talk about what happened Halloween night and I'm glad. I just want to forget about it and move on. The feelings I had for Hayden are slowly going away. We haven't talked since Halloween and I barely see him around school. Thanksgiving is in a few days and my family is having a big feast. We might even invite a couple of friends.

"Annie! Come down here please!" My mom yelled.

"Coming!" I yelled back.

I went downstairs and sat down.

"So as you know thanksgiving is in a couple of days and we are inviting some friends over." She explained.

I nodded.

"And I called Hayden's dad and asked if  him, Hayden, and Dylan wanted to come over." She said.

Oh no. I didn't tell her about Halloween. I also don't want her knowing. I put on my best fake smile.

"That sounds great." I said.

"Great!" She said smiling.

I went upstairs and called Lexi on FaceTime.

"Hayden's coming over for thanksgiving." I said.

"What?"

"My mom invited him and his family." I explained.

"She doesn't know what happened does she?" She asked.

I shook my head.

"I guess I'll have to deal with it." I said sighing.

I spent an hour talking to Lexi and she finally had to go. We've always been close, but she's now my best friend.

It's finally Thanksgiving . The day where I have to face Hayden. They're coming in 20 minutes. Yeah, this day went by fast. I didn't go to school today since it's a holiday.

I am in my room picking out an outfit because my mom said that I can't wear my pajamas.

I put my hair in a high ponytail and went downstairs so my mom can "approve" of my outfit.

"You look great!" She said smiling.

"Do you like my outfit Mom?" Hayley said running downstairs.
