Chapter 17 •Annie's Day•

Annie's POV

I woke up with Hayley, mom, and dad in my room. I then realized that it's my birthday.

"Happy birthday Annie!" Everyone said.

"Thank you." I said smiling.

Caleb then came in my room with Josie. They had a tray of food in their hands. Yes! Breakfast in bed.

"Here you go Annie." Caleb said giving me the tray.

"Thanks Bubba." I said taking the tray.

"Happy birthday Annie." Josie said giving me a hug.

"Thanks." I said.

"I can't believe you're 13!" Mom said.

"I can. It feels like I've been 12 for years."

"Time goes by fast." Dad said.

"So what are the plans for the day?" I asked.

Everyone looked at Josie and she mouthed something. They nodded and walked out of my room.

"So you'll be spending the rest of the day with Jayden and I." Josie said.

"Jayden? Bartels?"

"Yes. She missed you and wanted to spend the day with you." She explained.

"Okay.."

"We will be meeting her at the mall at 3." She said.

"What time is it now?" I asked.

"9." She answered.

"Okay. Can you stay in here to talk?" I asked.

"Yeah let me go get a tray of food too." She said getting up.

"Get Hayley too please." I said.

"Okay." She said walking out of the room.

"Oh it's almost 2:00! We need to get ready!" Josie said.

"Aww man." Hayley said.

"Yeah time went by fast." Josie said.

"It's okay Hayley. After we are done with the mall I'll come back home and we can hang out." I said.

Hayley looked at Josie and then at me.

"Yeah sure..." She said getting up.

"Have fun at the mall."

She walked out of the room.

"That was weird." I said looking at Josie.

"Yeah it was...anyways let's get ready." Josie said.

"Okay."

I got up and walked into my closet.

"Finally." I said unbuckling my seatbelt.

We got out of the car and walked into the mall. I saw Jayden sitting down on a bench.

"Hey Jayden." I said walking up to her.

"Annie!" She yelled.

She ran up to me and gave me a hug.
