Chapter 5 •Hayley's Accident•

Caleb's POV

Annie and I ran into the car and I drove to the hospital.

"What happened to Hayley?" She said concerned.

"She was walking to dance with her friends and she crossed the street a-and a drunk guy in his car tried stopping but it was too late. S-she got hit." I said with tears filling my eyes.

"I-is she going to be o-okay?" Annie asked crying.

"I don't know." I said.

She nodded slightly and the rest of the car ride was silent. About 15 minutes later I pulled up at the hospital and parked. We ran inside and asked for Hayley's room number.

"She is in room 7." The lady answered.

We ran to her room and saw her laying in bed looking pale.

"I called mom and dad. They should be here tonight." I said.

"Okay." Annie whispered.

We walked over by her bed and sat down.

"Caleb Logan Leblanc?" The doctor said.

"Yes?" I said looking by the door.

"So there's a 50/50 chance that she'll wake up. We have her on life support but she got hit pretty badly." The doctor said.

"O-okay." I stuttered.

The doctor gave me a half smile and walked away. After he left, Annie and my friends (including Dylan) came. Annie's friends all came in and Hayden shoved everyone out of the way and gave Annie a hug.

"Come on it's been like 5 minutes we want hugs too!" Jayden said.

Hayden and Annie stopped hugging and turned red. Jayden ran up to Annie and gave her a big hug. Everyone else hugged and I gave my friends bro hugs and I kissed my girlfriend Josie on the cheek and gave her a hug. (yes Caleb has a gf in the story #Jaleb haha)

''My friends and I are gonna get some snacks from downstairs while Josie stays with you guys, okay?'' I said.

''Okay.'' Everyone said.

Annie's POV

Caleb, Dylan and his other friends left and I walked over to the couch and sat down. Josie sat down and put her arm around me.

''It's gonna be okay Annie. Hayley's strong.'' Josie said.

''Thanks.'' I said and gave her a half smile.

''Does anyone need to use the bathroom?'' Josie asked.

Everyone said yes except Hayden.

''Okay, we'll be right back Hannie'' Josie winked.

Everyone laughed and followed her.

''You okay, Annie?'' Hayden asked.

''Kind of, I know Hayley will make it.'' I said looking over at her.

''I know I just met her, but she is a great person.'' He said smiling.

''Yeah. I'm lucky to have her.'' I said still looking over at her.

''And she's lucky to have you.'' Hayden said looking at her.

I looked over at him and he looked at me. We were staring at each other for awhile until he finally said something.
