It was going to be an extremely long flight. She just knew it. Ealish was already on the plane, seated somewhat comfortably when she noticed that several folks were watching her. Sure she expected this sort of thing to happen sooner or later. But this was just getting completely ridiculous. Three or more people were gawking her at her with their mouths wide open. Two of them were people seated in the aisle seat and half-turned to look at her. One completely turned around in their seat to openly gawk. The amount of attention she was getting was almost becoming unbearable. Trying to ignore them, she thought to herself,'Don't any of them have any form of shame? Or do they not realize just how freaking creepy that they're all being?'
It was at least forty five minutes already into the twelve hour flight. Forty five minutes for people to realize they were on a plane with her. And just who she was as well.
At least no one so far none of them had tried to talk to her. No one had almost accidentally sat on her either. But that would be a matter of time before one of those could happen. So to pass the time while she waited, she pulled out her small book from her purse. And opened to the page that she had bookmarked last night. Ealish was halfway through the page when she heard a 'soft' cough. A rather quiet one that was really annoying as hell. And she ignored it as she tried to continue on with her reading. The cough gets louder to the point where she just couldn't ignore it anymore. Looking over to her right, she asks,"Do you need a fucking cough drop?! "
"I umm...oh...I'm sorry are you Ealish Scarsberg?",asked the cougher. A young lady with short red hair was standing next to the chair that was empty. And she was pretty tall as well. Wearing a long dark green dress with short sleeves that matched her vibrant green eyes. Her hands toyed with the arm of the air plane chair. Ealish rolled her eyes as in annoyance. As she knew the women knew who she was. There literally was no one else in the world like her. In a tone dripping with sarcasm, Ealish replied,"No. I'm obviously the blue fairy."
With a huff, the redhead walked back to her seat. Ignoring this she went back to her reading. In a quiet voice she muttered to herself,"Some people have no sense of humor."
Relaxing in her seat, she looked around for a moment to see that others heard her comment. And some of them looked like they were judging her actions. One muttering how it was just a simple question, she didn't need to snap. Then she sighed a little as she thought to herself,'Maybe Mom's right about me being too mean to others. Oh well. It was her own damn fault.'
Some point, she must have fallen asleep. Because the next thing she knew, she felt herself being jolted awake and someone was talking about landing. Rubbing her eyes, she put the book back into her purse as she tried to glance out the window. It was much too high so all she really got a view of was the darkened barely morning sky. Or at least she thought it was morning. She honestly couldn't be sure since she didn't own a watch. So she listened to the woman talking and heard it was 3:30 in the morning. And that they would be landing in about five minutes or so in New Jersey. Hopefully her cousins would be at the airport waiting for her. They won't like the whole fact that she'll possibly draw a huge crowd but they'd get over it. Especially since she was sure that they both enjoyed the attention.
Unlike herself, she preferred to be left alone and not treated like some sideshow.
When the plane landed, she dropped down from her seat quietly. Then she asked another passenger to get some of her luggage down from above. He looked at her oddly as she took them from him and thanked him politely. Quickly she got off the plane and headed away from the plane. Her cousins were waiting with the rest of her small luggage and their home-bot, Koa. Koa was currently fussing over large plastic bags the girls loaded him with. His long metal arms seemed to be having trouble holding them all. But mostly he just wanted to get closer to Ealish. Nalani and Mililani were telling him that his metal pinchers would hurt her. Or that's what she figured they were saying when she got close enough and she said,"Hey!"
"Ealish! We were just talking about you!",Koa said. His voice as bubbly and gentle as always. Nalani knelt down as she extended her hand with a big smile. In a soft voice, she said,"Yeah. Genius here wanted to hold ya while we were going home."
Ealish took a few steps onto Nalani's hand as she processed this in her head. Looking over at Koa with a small smile, she said,"Gee. Really? I thought last year would make you a little scared to hold me."
"Especially when you fractured her arm carrying her to her room.",Mililani said. She rolled her eyes as the bot let out a low whine at this. In a frantic voice, he said,"I didn't mean to though! I've learned how to be gentle!"
"Riiiight. Yeah we're not going to let you help, Ealish.",Nalani said. Her voice sounded irritated as she walked with Ealish. Who was clinging to her cousin's thumb as tight as possible. Both girls let out a groan as the bot wouldn't stay silent at all. He rolled along with them as he pouted and grumbled. With a bit of a whine, he said,"You guys never let me do anything fun!"
"How is carrying me around everywhere like a doll supposed to be fun?",Ealish asked. Koa was getting annoyed as he followed them along. He said,"It'd be more fun than carrying these stupid bags! None of these even are the stuff I like!"
"Hey that shop with all the cute candles was closed today.",Mililani reminded him as they made their way out to the car Nalani held her cousin close as she told her about what they got and what they were doing. Nalani smiled as she asked,"We're going to visit the book store today. Hope you don't mind?"
"Nah. I've been needing some new books anyway."
