Blaise hadn't been kidding when he said that he wanted to help her become more famous. He gave her tiny clothes that were weirdly designed. They made her look like a little bug or something close to that. Her hair pulled up into twin pigtails that closely resembled antennas. Which she winced when he had managed to get it up like the way he had. But he seemed to love it and she couldn't figure out why. They made their way to the telescreen and she saw at least six other people. Each watching her with a very intense look on each of their faces. One said,"What in the..."
"What a little freak. It's hideous!",said another. As they all took in Ealish's appearance, they each said their opinion. Blaise started getting annoyed but not with the people. But with Ealish. As if them finding her to be freaky was her fault for some reason. Like she intentionally tried to make him look bad in front of his business partners. And when he turned off the telescreen. He started screaming at her for not trying hard enough. That she wouldn't being able to work with him or be in show business ever again.
Then he tried to reach out to her, but she ran off the table. Ran as fast as she could out of the room and towards the front door. Her little legs pumping as hard as they could muster away from the man. It was an automatic door and she knew if she jumped hard enough on the rubber square it would let her out. Looking back, she sees Blaise coming at her and she jumps hard on the mat.
Nothing.
She jumps again with similar result and resists the urge to scream. Ealish moves when he got close enough to her. Enough to get away from him and grinned when the door opened. Darting between the producer's legs, she ran out and continued to run.
Blaise stood in the doorway for a few moments before deciding to not follow her. After all she was useless to him and he wanted nothing to do with the little freak. Probably would die of exposure soon and then he'd never have to see her again. Sure he'd have to deal with her little friends but who cared?
He'll never have to see her again.
At least a couple of blocks away, Ealish was resting against a brick building. Tired, scared and cold. The outfit was too thin to keep her warm. She hugged her arms around herself as she walked to where she remembered the restaurant was. Hoping that she'd get there soon. Just anything that would warm her up would have been welcomed.
Hell even a fucking lightbulb would have been appreciated.
But she didn't seem to be any closer to the place than she had been before. And now she was getting really tired. In fact she felt like she was going to pass out anytime. Her vision was slowly starting to fade into black. Every step she made was wobbly as a newborn deer's first few steps. Then she stopped.
Slowly she slunk to the ground with a low sounding groan of disappointment. Ealish said,"No...no. Can't sleep. Can't fall asleep out here. It's too cold for me to sleep out here..."
But it was useless. Her eyes shut tight as she lay flat-out on the ground. The last thing she heard before falling deep into sleep was a voice saying,"You poor thing. How on earth did you get out here?"
A little while later, she awoke on a huge couch with a dish towel draped over her. Her clothes weren't the same outlandish bug ones. They were instead just a simple nightgown for dolls and her hair was let loose around her shoulders. She looked around as she asked,"Hello? Where am I?"
"Oh! You're finally awake!",a chipper voice said. Looking behind her, she saw a tall old woman standing behind the couch. She was holding a tray of something that seemed warm. And she was wearing a long dress with a shawl as well as a hat. Little glasses balanced on the tip of her nose. With her index finger, she pushed it back to its normal place. She said,"I'm Marsha LeLonde. I found you outside just a few minutes ago. I'm sorry I redressed you but you seemed so cold that I couldn't help it."
"Um thank you...where am I?",Ealish asked. Marsha set the large tray of hot something down on the table near her. Then she sat down next to her on the couch as she said,"Oh you're in my little basement dwelling. It's as cozy as a hobbit hole. Nicer though."
"Oh.",she said quietly. Ealish looked around the place as she asked,"Do you live here alone?"
"Yes. Just me. My landlord lives next door. He's a sweet man. Maybe you'd like to meet him after dinner miss...?",Marsha trailed off. Blushing a little, Ealish said,"Oh I'm sorry. My name is Ealish Scarsberg. Thanks for the meal."
"You're welcome, Miss Scarsberg. I do hope you enjoy it."
