Chapter Nine Doing A Favor

It wasn't a long wait for Asoka to appear in the guest room with her. She was wearing a different outfit more feminine one this time. Just this oddly flowery dress that Ealish had never seen before. The dress looked like it was made from rose petals. Short sleeved and sleek. Asoka looked as royal as she claimed to be. In her eyes, she was the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen.

Much more beautiful than models in Marsian clothing could hope to be.

Ealish toyed with the overalls that she had gotten a while back. Smiling awkwardly at her, Asoka asked,"So. The um. Favor I owe you? Just what is it you'd like to do?"

"I'm wondering if you were okay with um...I was wondering if you could let me fly with you?",Ealish asked. Her eyes meeting the fairy's who looked somewhat surprised. Raising a brow, the princess took a few steps closer to her. In a gentle voice, she said,"Sure. Though it's pretty odd though. Considering it's not all that interesting of a feat."

"I've always wanted to fly since I was seven. It's been a dream for me.",she said. Ealish took Asoka's hands in her own as Asoka said,"Okay. But don't blame me if you get bored."

Ealish merely giggled as she held Asoka's hand and walked toward the window. Holding tight, she smiled as they began lifting off the ground and into the sky. She was a little frightened by how high up they were but it passed. Asoka looked over at her as she asked,"So is this everything you were hoping for?"

"Yeah. It's really amazing up here, Asoka. I wish I could do this like you can.",Ealish admitted. Her hand gripping hers tight as she could as they flew over a park that was a block away from her cousin's home. It would probably be a few minute flight then straight home. That's what she figured it would take for them to do. Calmly, she asked,"So are we just going flying for a little while?"

"Yeah. Like thirty minutes or so. If that's okay.",Asoka questioned. She glanced over at Ealish who answered,"Yeah. It's fine, Asoka."

"Got any questions for me?",Asoka asked quietly. It was going to be a long flight and the silence had gotten awkward. At least for her. Ealish gave a big grin as she asked,"Yeah. I wanted to know if your kind have ever met someone my size that's not a fairy?"

"Oddly enough no. No one has ever met a human small as yourself before.",Asoka said. They came upon a big tree and rested amongst its branches. Ealish looked down at the ground bellow as the princess asked,"So how do Doctors not know why your so small? And where are you from?"

"I don't know. My Mother told me that I was found inside of a flower when I was little. Um. A buttercup actually.",she said. With a shrug of her shoulders, she said,"The woman who had found me before Mother said that she didn't think I was real. In fact she first thought I was a toy but then I started crying and she took me to a hospital. The doctors had no idea what to do with me. But the med-droids took care of me better than the human doctors or nurses could. In fact they were more gentle with me."

"I see. So did that make you into a public spectacle?",Asoka asked. Ealish sighed as she said,"Yeah. Long before I could even hold up my head. I've been literally considered a miracle infant. Sadly all it's ever gotten me was creepy harassment and begging scientists."

"That sounds awful.",Asoka said as she hugged her. Ealish blushed bright pink as she held her close. Letting out a nervous giggle, Ealish said,"It was. But Mother made it easier for me. In fact having her around made most things easier."

"So why did she adopt you?",she asked. With a smile, Ealish said,"My Mother couldn't have any children despite the times she's tried. When she heard about me, she decided to adopt me. She said that it took a long while but she did it. In fact she was the only one who wanted to try it legally. Someone tried to kidnap me once but I don't know how that happened."

"I see.",Asoka said as she let go. Scooting away, she looked Ealish in the eyes as she said,"It's wierd. I don't even know why they didn't want me for. Sure I was small but they could have taken care of me. Don't know why they didn't want me."

"Humans are weird like that. My parents say that they've seen humans kill babies before for being inconvenient. Or worse.",Asoka said quietly. Ealish wanted to ask her about that but she guessed that Asoka wouldn't want to speak of it. Both of them started flying towards her cousin's home.

What they hadn't noticed was a flash of light beneath them.

Or the creepy old man staring up at them, licking his thin chapped lips excitedly. His creepy little eyes twinkling with delight. He gripped his camera tight between his long spindly fingers and brushed away a lock of greasy gray hair away from his face. A soft,raspy voice said,"I found you...tiniest woman on Earth...I've finally found you...and now you're mine."

"I'm going to keep you forever,Ealish...forever..."
