Running into Love

Chapter 16

Friday seemed to drag on forever, as I got more and more excited for my date with Jessie. He had sent me a text letting me know he would pick me up at 6.15pm, giving us enough time to get down to the restaurant in time. He had also sent me a picture of him with bed hair with the text ‘Now we are even and you defiantly look better in the morning then I do :)’.

This was an absolute lie, because in the picture Jessie’s hair was swept over his face, a smirk playing on his lips showing off his dimples. The picture caused the biggest; goofiest smile to appear on my face and my cheeks to burn like the sun. I told Danni and she said if I didn’t marry Jessie she would de-friend me.

After I locked up the office, I grabbed my bag and headed home to get ready for my date. Danni was already waiting outside my house. She was sleeping over as my parents where in the city with my brother for a school function and where going to stay in a hotel for the night. We headed to my bedroom where my dress was laid out on my bed and make up ready to be applied to my face.

I had a quick shower, wrapped myself in a towel and sat patiently on a chair as Danni put on my makeup and did my hair. She did basic foundation, small amount of blush, light pink lips and a thin layer of black mascara. Danni placed large curls in my hair creating ringlets to form; she wrapped the white ribbon in my hair like a headband and let the ends fall down my back. I put on my best underwear, stepped into my dress and slipped on my heels. I put in my white diamond studs and grabbed my white clutch, placing in my phone, ID, some cash, my credit card and a small tube of lipstick. 

“Ready” I said as I flick one of the loose ringlets over my shoulder. “How do I look?” I asked as I turned to face Danni.

“Drop dead gorgeous, Jessie is one lucky dude.” Danni said as she started to take photo after photo of me.

 “Thanks Dan, I couldn’t have done it with out your help.” I smiled and started to spin around as she took more photos of me, saying beautiful darling, absolutely beautiful, in a bad accent of some sort. 

“Enough Dan I think you have plenty of photos to create a picture flip book.” I laughed as I put my hand up to her phone.

“Just admiring my handy work” She replied as she grabs my shoulder and took a dozen selfies of her and I pulling the most ridiculous faces.

Ding dong 

“He’s here” Danni voice rang out as she ran towards the front door.
