“Shit” a murmur left my lips. I felt my heart beat starting to race.
“Are you ok?” I heard Jessie’s voice in my ear.
“Oh umm yeh I’m fine” breathe in breathe out Jane.
“Jane, really are you ok, you look like you’ve seen a ghost and I can feel you heartbeat racing”
“Umm ok, not really” I replied as I put my head down again, hoping Cohen didn’t spot me.
“Oh umm what can I do? Did you want to leave?” Jessie replied his voice slightly shaky.
“Umm would that be ok?” I asked looking up at Jessie’s brown eyes.
“Of course” Jessie said as he released his arm from around me, standing up and putting his hand out for me to take.
I took Jessie’s hand and we headed towards the exit to the car.
Shit Jane why did you have to freak out. You were having an amazing time with Jessie and you let Cohen ruin it. What is wrong with you? Come on pull yourself together. I could feel my breaths becoming short and my palms getting sweaty. I felt Jessie’s hand tense as I heard him take in a deep breath. No, not now Jane, breathe in, breathe out. I looked to Jessie as we continued to walk. His eyes met mine and he smiled weakly at me. I returned a smile to Jessie as I felt my heartbeat slow down and suddenly my breaths returned to normal and my hands were no longer sweaty, it was like he had stopped my attack completely.
“Hey do you want to go somewhere?” Jessie asked breaking the silence between us and snapping me out of my trance as he went to open the passenger side door.
“Yeh, where are we going?” I asked sliding into the car seat.
“You’ll see” Jessie replied as he sent me a cheeky smirk.
Jessie got into the drivers seat and squeezed my hand before taking off out of the car park. We made several turns and after about 10 minutes we pulled into a car park. Jessie got out and helped me out of the car.
“Ok I am so lost” I chuckled nervously as I held onto his hand.
“Trust me” Jessie said as he squeezed my hand again and pulled me towards a hill with cement steps in the side.
Just as we reached the stairs I pulled off my heels and went to walk up the stairs.
“What are you doing?” Jessie asked grabbing my hand.
“Walking, up, the, stairs. I paused after each word with hesitation.
“You’ll get you feet dirty and scratched up” Jessie replied.
“Oh, no that’s alright” I said as started to head up the stairs again.
“No” Jessie shouted back at me like a child, pulling me into his body, a laugh escaping his lips.
I pressed my hands to his chest as I heard my laughter fill the cool air.
“I will carry you up, jump on” Jessie said turning me round to face his back.
“No don’t be silly Jessie, I’ll be fine” I replied as I playfully pushed him.
“Jump on Jane, seriously” Jessie looked me in the eye; he turned me around and crouched down for me to sit on his back.
“Jessie I” I began to say but Jessie cut me off.
“Jane, get on” Jessie replied, his voice serious.
His head turned to face mine, a smirk spreading across his face.
“Fine” I laughed as I wrapped my arms around his neck, my legs around his waist and cradle my head into the side of his neck. Jessie grabbed my thighs with his hands and began to take the steps, one by one. His cologne filled my nose as I relaxed into his body.
We reached the top within minutes. I raised my head up from Jessie’s neck and took in the view. The sky was solid black with hundreds of stars sparkling like diamonds. The moon was full and casting light on to the top of the hill. The hill was built up with tons of different types of shrubs, trees and flowers. Bright coloured flowers and fruits stood out from the dark green bushes. There was one park bench right on the peak of the hill.
“Wow” I breathed out.
Jessie body shook as he chuckled. He walked over to the bench and lowered me down. I released my legs and hands, sitting down.
I looked down and grabbed Jessie’s hand.
“Thank you for bringing me here Jessie” I said, raising my head to look into his deep brown eyes.
“Your welcome Jane” Jessie replied, his hot breath blowing on my face.
I didn’t realize till now that our faces were only centimeters apart.
I saw Jessie move closer to me, our noses almost touching. I looked down at his soft pink lips then back again to his eyes. We both leaned forward.
