I fell asleep for about ¾ of the drive to the house and spent the rest of it getting to know Diane better. She reminded me a lot of my mum. Caring, loving and very smart. She asked me about my family, friends and Jessie. She was very excited to meet him and talk to us more about our future. She told me more about the kids and her and Edward. It was defiantly amazing how alike her relationship with Edward was so alike to mine and Jessie’s.
The house was on a large acre of land. It was a two-story brick home with a long driveway leading to the house from the road. Fruit trees surrounded the driveway and there was a small-enclosed pergola to the side front of the property, separate from the house. Once we got inside the house Diane introduced me to the kids and her husband. The twins, Rose and Daisy both had long straight brown hair, much like Diane’s. They had green eyes and rosy cheeks. I could tell straight away that we were going to get along well. Louis, Diane and Edwards son, had light brown hair like the twins, but cut short and spiked. He had green eyes like the girls and was quite tall for his age, he was at least a head taller then me. He gave me a small smile as the two girls chatted away. Edward had dark brown hair, almost black and was wearing a black suit with a dark blue shirt underneath, matched with a striped blue and black tie. He was just as nice as Diane and it was very obvious that they were in love.
Diane and the girls showed me to my cottage and left me so I could settle in. The cottage was one level, placed at the back of the property about a five-minute walk to the main house. It was very similar to the main house and was almost a small replica. It was an open planned living, dining, kitchen and had a queen sized bedroom and ensuite to the back, along with a small laundry. The furniture was simple yet beautiful.
I pulled out my phone and rang Jessie, putting it on speaker.
“Hey beautiful. How was your flight?” Jessie’s voice rang through the phone as I started to unpack my suitcase and fill up the bedrooms closet and draws, leaving room for Jessie’s clothes when he arrived.
“Hey handsome. It was quick not to bad really. How is everything back at home?”
“Good good. Everyone misses you already even though it hasn’t even been a full day” Jessie chuckled through the phone.
“Haha well I miss everyone too. Especially you. I can’t wait for you to get here” I replied as I sat on my new bed.
“Me too beautiful. Hey look I got to go its pretty late here now, but I will try skype you tomorrow?” Jessie asked.
“I will let you go then. Yeh just text me before hand and I will make sure I am near my laptop” I replied.
“Ok then beautiful I will talk to you tomorrow. I love you”
“I love you too” I said before I hit the end button.
I fell back onto the bed and sighed. It as going to be a long 7 days.
