Running into Love

Chapter 22

At first I was shocked but then I relaxed into kiss, running my hands through Jessie’s hair, forgetting everything.

We pulled apart and just looked into each other’s eyes as we put our foreheads together.

“Jane we can make this work. Look at what we have been though in the last 2 months and it hasn’t broken us, has it?” Jessie raspy voice sent a quiver down my spine.

“I guess not, no” my voice sounded weak.

“No it hasn’t and you know why, because I love you and that’s all that matters. I will fight for you Jane. Know that.”

“You love me?”

“Shit. That wasn’t very romantic was it? I was hoping it would be more special” Jessie said as he looked down at his lap.

“Jessie it was romantic, no matter how you said it or where we were” I chuckled as I lifted Jessie’s head up. His face had turned bright red.

“I love you too Jessie” I said before I kissed him on the lips.

“I really am sorry I didn’t tell you sooner Jessie”

“Its ok Jane just promise me, no more secrets”

“Promise”

We stay on the bench for a while longer, talking about the first time we had come to the hill and about my trip to England and how we would stay in touch.

“Why don’t I come with you?” Jessie asked as he looked at me.

“Jessie, I couldn’t ask you to do that and I don’t know if my nanny family would allow it” I replied as I drew circles on Jessie’s leg.

“There is no harm in asking Jane, you never know” Jessie replied as a smirk spread over his face.

“I will ask but do not get your hopes up” I replied.

“Oh beautiful I forgot I got you a present” Jessie said as he stood up and began to fish around in his pockets.

“Handsome you didn’t have to do that, we said no presents” I said as I chuckled at him trying to find what ever it was in his deep jacket and pants pockets.

“You know I don’t always listen to you” Jessie said as he smirked at me.

“That’s true, so what did you get me” I asked as I began to bop up and down on the bench in excitement.

“Close your eyes and open your hands” Jessie said.

I closed my eyes and felt an object be put in my hands.

“Open them” Jessie voice flowed through my ears.

I opened my eyes to see a small black velvet box in my hands. I opened it to find a gold chain necklace with a J hanging from it with a ruby heart sitting in it.

“Jessie, its beautiful” I said as Jessie took it out of the box and placed it around my neck.

“Just like you, beautiful” Jessie said as he pecked me on the lips then my nose.

I blushed a deep red and put my hand up to the J necklace. It hung perfectly around my neck and felt like it was always meant to be there. Jessie piggy backed me back down the stairs again.

“I love you Jane” Jessie said to me as he swung me round bridal style, same as he did on our first date.

“I love you too Jessie”.

It was that night that Jessie and I gave ourselves to each other. It was the most amazing night ever.
