7. Promise.

It was the another day when Sona decides to take his care and tell him everything at an appropriate time.

Like every other morning she visits to his room. But to her amazement the room was locked from his side. She sighed in dismay as her secret mission wasn't accomplished today. "What are you doing here?" a loud voice jerks her a bit. She turns to find RadhaRani eyeing her suspiciously. "Umm... I...just...." she left lack of words. "RadhaRani we're getting late." Mamaji says entering in the scenario. "Bhaiya I'm ready." says Ishwari following Mamaji. All three gazes falls on hesitated Sona. "I forgot to tell you that we're going out of station to visit a temple in our village. You take leave today." Ishwari orders. "But yesterday was hectic day for you all. You should take rest. Specially you Aunty ji." Sona was careful about her work. No matter what. "Don't you try to order me anything. You're just my doctor." Ishwari spats. "Actually Sonakshi. It is really important to visit there." Mamaji interferes. "....Okay as you wish." says Sona faking a smile.

Soon everyone leaves while Dev's room still remains locked. "He has decided to take rest for today." says Ishwari who can easily sense the restlessness in her eyes. "So now you can leave." she completes. Sona nods in dismay and leaves.

She was continously calling him while his phone remain switched off. She was worried now.

After being failed in between the fight of her mind and heart. She decides to go with her heart. And reaches to his house again.

He wasn't yet out of the room. "Dev" she bangs the door. No response. "Dev..." she was worried. "Dev please open the door..." she yells in worry. After few bangs she realises the door can be opened from her hair clip. She tries it for once while calling out his name continuously. His silence was making her worries grew up. After few hard tries the door was finally opened. The scene in front of her eyes grabbed the floor of her feet.

He was laying on floor, shivering while the messy room showed the tornado. "Devvvv" she rushes to hold his head. Only when she finds him burning in fever. "Dev get up..." she says patting his cheeks. After few pats he opens his eyes to find himself resting on the lap of worried Sona. "Sona..." He tries to speak but some pain kicks his stomach while he covers his mouth with both hands. "Sshhhh... Get up." she says making him stand while he rushes to washroom on washbasin. "What happened Dev." she was worried. He vomits badly while she keeps caressing his back.

After a while she makes him lay on bed with many efforts. The touch sensed his fever was high. Vomiting is a symptom and fever is another!!! She gets tensed thinking about his disease. He keeps coughing while she makes him drink some water. Her eyes gets wet seeing his condition but she needs to be strong. She keeps caressing his face and consoling him. "Sonakshi..." He speaks finally after grabbing some rest. "Dev..." she mumbles with a fresh bunch of tears. "Don't cry please...." He huffs. She cries kissing his forehead. He smiles.

She decides to apply the drench cloth technique while he seemed relaxing a bit now. He sleeps slowly while she keeps taking his care. She calls Dr. Singh who was out of station at the moment. "He might have skipped his medicines." says Dr. Singh on call while Sona asks for suggestion for her next step. "Make him have some healthy meal and have his medicines." says he. "Dr. Singh now you can be clear to me... I know what had happened to him." she replies. Dr. Singh knew she isn't lying. "He should have to take his medicines on time." says Dr. Singh after an awkward silence. "Water..." Dev murmurs while Sona asks Dr. Singh to hang up the call.

She rushes to him making him drink some water. After making him sip some water she adjusts him properly under the blanket. "Where's my phone?" He asks in his weak voice. "Dev. It's discharged. Now sleep." she scolds. "But I have to attend few meetings today itself." He murmurs in sleepy voice. "Sshhhh.... Everything is fine. Just relax." says she caressing his head. He sleeps. "The fever is lessening now" she sighs. Sitting beside him, she stares at such a strong person she had ever seen!! He looked so weak, so pale today. "Dev... We'll fight together!! I'm not going to leave you alone." says she holding his hand while he enjoys his deep slumber. She puts his phone on charge while mails Tina about his unwell state for today. She assures about everything will be fine.
