14. Misunderstandings

"I'm helpless Maa" cries Sona. She feels a hand on her shoulder and finds Asha standing to console her. She cries hugging her.

"I'm sorry Sona.... I should have trusted you" she takes Sona in her embrace. "I'm sorry"

Sona cries.

After a while. Dev starts gaining consciousness while mumbling for Sona. "I'm here Dev" He smiles at the voice which was always there for him. She kisses his forehead. "You are my beautiful mistake" He chuckles. "You are unbelievable Dev. You're kidding this time!" she complaints pouting.

Asha enters inside the room. Dev's eyes widens remembering about the moment. He looks at Sona who was smiling encouragingly.

"Maa.... I... I mean.... Aunty...." Says confused Dev. Meanwhile Sona helps him to sit. "Maa" Asha smiles stroking his hair. "Call me Maa".

Dev surprisingly looks at Sona. "Dev... I'm sorry.... She knows everything now." says Sona. Dev widens his eyes. Asha nods smilingly.

"No.." He warns showing his palm to Sona and Asha. They both remains shocked.

He snatches all the needles pierced in his skin. "Stay away" He fumes getting out of the bed. "Dev you need rest. What are you doing?" Sona was worried.

"Get away" He yells. Sona looks shocked. "Dev" she rushes to hold him. "I said stay away" He fumes pushing her slightly. Asha holds Sona. "What happened will you tell me?" asks Sona.

"People who are feeling pity for me are only who are coming back!" He cries. "I don't want any pity. She... Why's she here? She should say everyone to hate me.... She should not show pity on me." He cries at the corner of the room. Asha's eyes gets watery.

"I'm sorry Dev. I didn't knew about you" says Asha.

"Exactly!!" Dev interrupts. "When you didn't knew me.... You was real to me! You were hating me. You were hating her. And today after knowing the truth..... This isn't your love. This is your pity on me." He cries throwing the vase and holds his head.

"Dev... Stop overthinking. This isn't what she thinks about you. She knew you are a good person." says Sona. "No... Ask her to leave.... And don't show pity on me." He cries feeling dizzy. "Don't be stupid Dev. It was all a confusion." Sona cups his face. "I don't want any pity..... That's it!" He declares glaring at Asha.

"It's not pity." Asha says wiping her tears. "Sonakshi.... You can leave with her if you want. You aren't required to do formalities for both of us." Dev wipes his tears trembling a bit.

"Stop your nonsense Dev." Sona scolds. "She didn't knew anything that's what made her villain in front of you. Don't blame her for anything" says Sona making him stand properly.

"I don't want any argument. It's your choice. Me or her?" He asks.

"Dev please..."

"Me or Her, Sonakshi?" He asks louder.

"This is unfair Dev. Even Riya has changed her behaviour towards you after knowing your truth. Same did she!" she yells.

"She's my sister."

"And she's my mother!"

"Good then! Leave me. Forever." He orders.

"You will hurt yourself Dev." she cries.

"Stop treating me like a kid."

"Dev....."

"G. E. T.    L. O. S. T." He fumes gritting his teeth. Sona looks at him, shocked. "Leave me. And stay with them." He fumes. "Goodbye" He throws her hands away from his cheeks. She remains numb.

He leaves the room wiping his tears.

Dev reaches home and rushes to his room. Ishwari notices an hospital tape on his knuckles and gets worried. "Dev.... What's this?" she asks holding his hand. He remains silent.

"Dev I'm asking you something." she scolds. "Just a small cut" says he leaving for the room. "And where is Sonakshi?" she asks. "I don't know" He replies and finally leaves for his room.

"Dev..." Ishwari tries to stop her but Riya comes in between to divert her from Dev.

Sona reaches Ishwari Nivas worriedly. She gets straight towards his room.

"Dev open the door" she bangs.

Silence.

"Dev... This is my room as well!" she groans.

Ishwari comes in between. "What happened?" She asks worriedly.

"Maa..... I mean Aunty.... Actually he's upset with me. And has locked himself inside the room." she explains.

"Then he will not open. Let his mood be stable once. You can talk to him" Ishwari makes her understand.

"Thank you Aunty" she smiles.

"It's all about knowing a person. The more you know, the more deep your love is!!" Neha interrupts taunting at Sona. "But you can't understand these things. Selfish woman!" she fumes while Sona remains silent. Neha takes Ishwari to sleep.

"Dev please open the door" she cries.

Silence.

"Dev... You are scaring me now." She bangs the door.

Silence.

She sits on the floor leaning on door. "Dev... I love you" she hisses softly.
