Eren couldn't stop choking Levi, could not make himself stop —

"Feisty, aren't we?" Levi forced Eren upwards, sending him flying. Eren crashed into the headboard of the bed he was resting upon. His skull throbbed and he felt a wave of dizziness wash over him; for a moment he almost passed out.

As his eyes adjusted once more, coming back into focus, and as his senses cleared he managed to glare at Levi, who was grinning smugly at him. He had faint red marks across his neck and throat, and Eren's hateful glare fell.

"I'm sorry," he said immediately, and for a moment he was completely in love with Levi again. He cared endlessly for him, Levi was his world, whoever hurt Levi hurt him and deserved nothing but pain. Reaching out, Eren frowned.

"I didn't mean . . ." Eren leaned forward slightly, tracing the indentations with a finger. Levi stared at him with an air of odd calm passiveness, and it was then that Eren realized what he was doing. At once, he recoiled, stricken.

"See, mon amour?" Levi said after a moment of silence, and Eren grimaced at the nickname. No matter how much it made his heart ache and hurt, it still set his stomach alive with a flurry of nerve-wracking butterflies.

"You still care for me," Levi whispered and Eren finally turned towards him fully, his lips pursing into a thin line. How could he still care for Levi? A murderer, a murderer, someone who was just like Eren, as filthy as he was —

Smiling, Levi lunged forward, pouncing as if he were a cat onto his prey; which was obviously Eren. He cupped Eren's cheeks into his hands, continuing to smile. "You still love me," he stated matter-of-factly. "You still love me, Eren."

"Say it with me," Levi ordered and Eren glanced at him, arching an eyebrow. "Say what with you?" He asked faintly, his voice a strained rasp. Levi looked at him as if it were obvious. "Well, say that you still love me, of course!"

"Wha — n-no . . ." Eren shook his head stubbornly and Levi's expression fell drastically. He darkened considerably, his grasp on Eren's cheeks tightening as he chuckled formidably. "You must have hit your head pretty hard."

"Come on, mon amour. Say it. Say you love me."

"No, Levi," Eren snapped, angling his gaze downwards. That enraged Levi, whose nails dug into Eren's flesh, making him whimper. Levi yanked his chin upwards and snarled, "Look at me!" His tone was so vicious that Eren did.

"Say you love me!" Levi shouted and Eren flinched, but Levi still kept him firm in place with his grip, which was like a vice. Eren was trapped. He was living inside of a cage. He was reminded of a bird. He was a bird, and Levi was the cat.

"Do it," Levi screamed, his voice taking on a desperate tone. "Say you love me, Eren! Want me to go first? Fine! I love you! I love you Eren, I have for ages! And you love me, too! So just say it already!" He began to sound pleading.

"I don't — I can't love you anymore, Levi," Eren cried out. "You're a monster!" His eyes filled with tears. Levi, his sweet Levi, had killed his friends . . .

My sweet Levi . . . A serial killer?

"How?" Levi demanded, shaking him. "How?!" He screamed and Eren shrunk down, horrified as Levi yelled, "You're just like me! If I'm a monster, you are, too! We're both monsters! That makes us all the more able to be together!"

"Stop, stop, stop!" Eren begged as Levi tossed him onto the bed, pinning him down with furious eyes. "Say you love me!" He shouted and Eren looked up at him, picturing those once-gentle hands fastening around his throat . . .

"I —" Eren couldn't finish the sentence.

I can't.

I can't anymore.

Mom, please. Armin, please. I'm sorry!

What did I do to deserve this?

I'll be a better brother, a better friend, a better son.

I promised Zeke . . . I promised him I'd rescue him . . . But instead I just killed his mother. Oh God, I'm a monster. I'm horrible. I'm the worst. I'm a wretched big brother.

Am I . . . Am I turning into my father?

"I don't want to be like my father," Eren cried out. He didn't mean to, the words just slipped out. Levi looked at him, slightly surprised before he leaned down and pressed his lips firmly against Eren's, whose eyes widened in shock.

When Eren did not kiss back, Levi bit down onto his lip, making Eren cry out. Tears flowed down his cheeks as he tasted both blood and Levi in his mouth. Levi nipped at his bottom lip and briefly clinked their teeth together.

He deepened the kiss with each passing second and Eren couldn't stop crying. His body shook and he pressed his hands against Levi's shoulders. They rested there, trembling like leaves in the wind, too scared to push back.

Finally, miraculously, when Levi pulled away, Eren was able to gasp for breath. His head felt light, and he suspected he was going to fall unconscious soon if this repetitive feeling kept up. His lips burned and his throat throbbed.

Levi edged towards him, placing a finger against Eren's bloody lip. He smiled, a crooked gesture, and then wiped Eren's tears away with a bloody finger. Red with Eren's blood . . . The sight made Eren sick to his stomach.

"You're not like your father," Levi murmured. "You know how I know?" He cradled Eren's head in his hands, his smile widening. "Because I love you, Eren. I love you. I've loved you in this life, and I'll love you in the next."

"Now . . . Just say it. Say you love me back. Please, mon amour?"

With tears blurring his vision, Eren whispered, "I . . . I l-love you."

Levi smiled like it was Christmas Day and Eren felt devastated.

Was this what his life had come to?

Being a killer . . . And dating one . . .

I'm in love with a serial killer.
