It was barely noticeable how he changed. He started to seem more tired every time they'd take him from the cell. Then a section his hair began to bleed into white from stress. Katie noticed each one, even if she convinced him that she hadn't.
It had been months and the portion of hair had completely faded into white. He seemed slightly anxious every since she woke up. She had been thinner, a lot thinner, and needed food. The interrogation wasn't helping her none. They had been moved to another ship shortly after they had lost her mother for questioning.
Shiro managed to make them feed her twice a day, so now she seemed fuller then she'd been during the gladiator fight.
"Why are you anxious today?" she asked when she couldn't take her curiosity any longer. He looked at her.
"Yesterday, Haggar told me that I'd become their greatest weapon and that something big was happening today," he explained. Katie stood.
"If you become their weapon, it'd mean that your no longer their prisoner... Am I going to be alone after today?" she asked, desperately hoping otherwise. He didn't answer for a while.
"I don't know," he said after a long period of silence. He was very aware of her fear of being alone in the god forsaken cell. Many times he'd come back from Haggar experiments to Katie freaking out in the dark cell.
She slinked back into a corner and cradled her legs. She sunk her face into them as if she wanted to become small, unnoticeable. The door slid open and Katie tensed. They had come to take him away. Shiro stood and Katie watched him go. What she didn't know was that she wouldn't see him again for a long time.
"Galaxy Garrison flight log 5-11-14, begin descent to Kerberos for rescue mission," Lance, one of Matt's group partners, said in a chill voice. The ship tilted downwards and Matt noticed Hunk, his other group partner, nearly puking. Why was he even here if he gets sick from flight, Matt didn't know.
Hunk groaned. "Lance, can you get this thing straight?" he asked, obviously trying to keep his lunch in his stomach.
"Relax Hunk, I'm just getting a feel for the stick. Its not like I did this!" Lance retorted, shrugging his shoulder. He made the shuttle dove down and go faster. Hunk tried to retreat into himself as he groaned. "Or this!" Lance cheered, making the shuttle go to the right sharply.
Hunk tilted and groaned more. He looked done for as he began to speak like he was tired, "Okay, unless you want to whip beef stroganoff out of all the little nooks and crannies of this thing, you better knock it off man!" He had raised his voice, very unlikely of him.
Matt rolled his eyes. He had been attending Garrison as a girl and all Lance did was hit on him. It was slightly disturbing. He looked like his sister, but with glasses. He honestly was surprised that Garrison hadn't recognized him yet or connected him to her.
He was just glad Lance wasn't hitting on his sister. The screen before him shifted as they located a signal. "We've picked up a distress signal!" he called, using the voice he used. He had mimicked his sister's voice all the time, so he was good at sounding like a girl.
"Alright, look alive, team. Pidge, you beautiful creature, track coordinates," Lance said as he pressed a few buttons. Matt groaned and ignored his little add-on.
"Copy," Matt said and turned back to the screen. The computer began to beep as Lance made the shuttle go faster.
"Cut it off, Lance! Please!" Hunk called, gripping the sides of his seat. Lance looked backed at him.
"Oh this one's on you, buddy. We've got a hydraulic stabilizer out," Lance responded. Hunk gulped and grabbed the screen in front of him. He looked ready to puke.
"Oh, no...," Hunk grumbled. He was going to puke. This was bad.
"Oh, no. Fix now, puke later," Lance warned. The flashing locater on Matt's screen faded and he began to panic.
"I lost contact. The shaking is interfering with our sensors!" he called, still sounding like a girl. He didn't even know if he could talk like him again.
"Come on, Hunk!" Lance called, anger in his voice as obvious as he was bi. To answer Hunk's earlier question, no Lance can't keep the shuttle straight, he isn't himself.
"It's not responding!" Hunk snapped back before standing and going to grab something in the corner of the shuttle. A location appeared on the screen.
"Oh, never mind fella and glorious woman. Thar she blows. Preparing for approach on visual," Lance called. Matt offered another groan.
"I don't think that's advisable with our current mechanical and gastrointestinal issues!" he called out to their pilot. Hunk was trying not to puke next to him.
"Agreed," he said between his wheezing. Lance groaned.
"Stop worrying! This baby can take it, can't you, champ?" Lance said to the shuttle, patting it's interior like a dog. The ship shook as if responding with a no. "See? S-she was nodding. She was nodding." He paused before continuing. "Beautiful, hail down to them and let them know their ride is here."
Matt shot him a glare. He hated how he called him 'beautiful'. Matt unbuckled and stood on his chair. He reached for a cubby and grabbed a communicator. "Attention, lunar vessel-," he was cut off by the ship shifting. He fell with a girly scream.
Lance looked down at him. "What are you doing? Buckle your belt! And, Hunk, stop that shaking," Lance hollered, panicking. It was when he is like this that Matt is free from all his flirting. Matt got up and returned to his seat.
"I'm try- oh, no," Hunk said before finally vomiting. Hunk closed the lid as Matt held the communicator to his face once again.
"Attention, lunar vessel, this is Galaxy Garrison Rescue Craft One Victor Six Three Tango, coming in for landing and extraction, against crew recommendations," he said, never afraid to mock Lance or be sassy.
"No time for your comments now. They're going under and we're going in," Lance called. Matt saw they were about to crash.
"Look out for that overhang!" he called, pointing.
"No worries. My first year in flight school, know what they called me? They called me 'The Tailor' because of how I thread the needle!" Lance responded and dove to avoid the overhang. Matt and Hunk screamed and clutched their seats. "Come around, come around. Come on, come on!"
They hit the overhang and the ship went crazy. "We lost a wing!" Hunk called as beeping started and red flashes went off.
"Oh, man," Lance groaned, knowing what happened next. They were going to fail the simulation. Then they crashed.
"Simulation failed," a computer's voice said.
"Nice work, Tailor," Matt teased, anger low in his voice. The doors opened and the commander called out to them.
"Roll out donkeys!"
Yes, I actually go back during these scenes and get them word for word, action for action. All credit of the already happened scenes to Netflix. Though I did change some lines a little. *whistles*
