Matt, Katie, and Colleen all laid down, gazing into the neverending-ness that was the great universe. In a pile of blankets, pillows, and comforters, the three laid with intertwined limbs. Bliss filled Katie from head to toe. Here she sat, her mother and brother by her side. The only missing piece was her father.

Her dad. Oh, how she had forgotten. With the joy of finding Voltron with her brother, Shiro, and her mother immediately following, she had forgotten about her longing for Earth. Just for a little bit. Allowing her smile to fade, she continue to peer out to the stars.

Shiro, who sat across from this pile of limbs, noticed her expression. He lightly nudged her head with his foot. "What's got you beat?" he whispered. The sudden sound surprised her out of her thoughts and she gratefully looked at him. Shiro's beautiful face peered back.

"My father. We left him all alone, so I was just concerned, you know?" Katie admitted, a pained smile creeping upon her face. Her fears and worries flooded her at once, her shoulders beginning to shake and tears beginning to pour down her moon-colored cheeks.

Seeing the state she was in, Shiro enveloped her in the biggest hug he could muster. "We'll get there. Your family will be reunited," he reassured, squeezing her in his arms.

Matt shifted, arm flying over her legs. Her brother grumbled in his sleep, but in fear of waking him, Katie stood. She daintily wiped the tears off her face and went toward the exit. Shiro's footsteps were swift to follow her. Once they were out, Katie remarked, "I hope you're right. Maybe there's hope for everyone after all. Maybe I can have my family once again. That's possible, right Shiro?"

He nodded, smoothing her hair. "Yes, absolutely. If we try our hardest, we will succeed in making our dreams," he replied, watching her eyes become glossy once again. She nodded, emotions flaring. Next thing she knew, Shiro's lips were on her's. Closing her eyes, she allowed her thoughts to run away as Shiro held her closer by her waist.

Katie's hands found place behind his neck as their lips continued to move against each other. A gasp and clatter caused them to move from each other in the matter of seconds. Turning to see an embarrassed Allura, Katie's cheeks warmed.

"I do apologize... I was just looking for Matt so we could talk," the princess explained, running past them with her head low. Shiro bursted into laughter, watching the door close behind Allura. Katie, too, began to laugh.

Shiro was right. There will always be hope if we try our hardest. Katie caught Shiro's eyes as they enveloped each other, feelings known between them. "Thank you," she whispered and closed her eyes. The freedom fighter nuzzled her nose into his shirt, taking in his scent. How she missed the feeling of security and safety the aroma always provided her.

The man she loved. The family she loved. Soon she will have all of it in her grasp again. Thinking over her journey, happiness and pride filled her being. "What for?" Shiro asked, a chuckle leaving him. Vibrations crossed his chest, feeling funny against her skin.

"Everything."

The End.
I am sorry if it feels like I cut it short. I felt like it was a good spot to end it.
