They were grilled earlier for their bad performance during the simulation, but Matt didn't care. He set up his computer and locators on Garrison's rooftop. He began to intercept feeds and listen in. He kept getting alien-like transmissions that repeated the same word over and over: Voltron.

He shivered in the cold wind and looked up at the sky. "I'm coming for you, sis," he said and resumed typing furiously in search of his family. The door to the roof opened, but Matt didn't hear it through his headphones.

Cold air hit his right ear as his headphones were being lifted. "You come up here to rock out?" Lance whispered in his ear. Matt jumped at the sudden gesture, knocking his headphones off of him and onto the ground.

He turned to them. "Oh, Lance, Hunk. No, um, just looking at the stars," he nervously said. He tried his best not to glance at his equipment behind him and rouse suspicion.

Lance found his eyes on his stuff anyway. "Where'd you get this stuff? It doesn't look like Garrison tech," he muttered and Matt mentally slapped himself. He should've checked for anyone following him.

"I built it," Matt said, feeling pride coming from within him.

"You built all this!?" Hunk asked, surprised. He reached out to touch Matt's tech. He quickly swatted Hunk's hand away with a glare and a 'stop it.'

"With this thing I can scan all the way to the edge of the solar system," Matt croaked, his swelling pride visible.

"That right? All the way to Kerberos?" Lance asked from behind him. Matt felt Lance's idiotic side coming out once again. Why had they even come!? Matt felt the pain swelling up again, as if his wound was just reopened. He looked away to hide the tears building up behind his eyelids. "You go ballistic every time on of the instructors bring it up. What's your deal?"

Lance paid attention and that itself was annoying. It was a surprise that he hadn't realized that 'Pidge' was actually Matt, and a dude at that. He noticed Hunk playing with his equipment. "Second warning, Hunk!" Matt hissed. Hunk groaned in response.

"Look, beautiful, if we're going to bond as a team, we can't have any secrets," Lance said, referencing to their earlier mistake. Matt took a moment to think about his answer.

"Fine. The world as you know it is about to change," he said. It would be good to have Lance and Hunk able to help him locate Katie and his mother, plus Shiro. "The Kerberos mission wasn't lost because of some malfunction or crew mistake." Matt noticed Hunk's wondering hands trying to touch his equipment. "Stop touching my equipment!" Hunk groaned and rolled over. Matt turned back to his task. "So I've ben scanning the system and picking up alien radio chatter."

"Woah, what? Aliens?" Hunk asked, shooting up off the ground. Lance looked skeptical beside him.

"Okay. So, you're insane. Got it," Lance said and muttered, "Though that isn't stopping me from wanting you."

Matt felt like pouncing at him and clawing his eyes out. "I'm serious. They keep repeating one word, 'Voltron,'" he said, picking up his sketchbook with the word and many doodles. He pointed at the word, largely scribbled across it.  "And tonight, it's  going crazier then I've ever heard it!"

"How crazy?" Lance asked. The intercom stopped Matt's response.

"Attention, students. This is not a drill. We are on lockdown! Security situation Zulu Niner! Repeat: All students must remain in barracks until further notice," it said.

Hunk turned around. "What's going on?" Matt shared his fears.  Hunk froze and pointed at something. "Is that a meteor?" A sun was in the sky... A sun was in the sky at night. The sun wasn't even a sun: something was falling out of the sky.

Shiro hadn't returned and the alarms had been blasting in warning. Katie heard shouting and quick footsteps outside of her cell. She shivered in the corner. That's when it hit her. Shiro had left, escaping this wretched place. At first she wanted to scream in despair but instead, she felt her lips hurl upwards in a painful smile.

She felt tears trickle down her face, despite having vowed not to cry again. She stood and raced to the door, peaking through the purple-tinted window. Galra soldiers stomped around, shouting commands with their weapons in hand. Something defiantly was amiss, and if Katie knew Shiro, which she did, he was the cause.

The tears stopped and she backed away. The pain in her leg was barely noticeable after weeks of improper healing. She had a little limp, but it wasn't too serious. After some time, it'll completely heal. She sat on the ground and rested her head against the cool metal. "Goodbye Shiro and good luck," she whispered and smiled again.

The alarms stopped blaring thirty minutes later signaling Shiro's perfect escape. Katie gave a victorious laugh in her cell. 'Go Shiro, do whatever comes into that brilliant head,' she thought. The door slid open.

"You, come with us for interrogation," a galra said, pointing to have two of the droids drag her out. "We need to know where your friend is headed." Katie gave him a laugh.

"And you'd think I'd know? I'm sorry to tell you that I don't know about where he's planning to go. Actually thats a lie, I'm not sorry at all!" she said as the androids pulled her to her feet and out of the door. "Might as well give up now. No one can predict him. Not you, I, nor your leader."

The galra punched her in the stomach and she spat at him. He backed away and motioned for the droids to drag her off. He looked at her with something she hadn't seen yet. Disgust and fear. Shiro was gone and she had to step up to protect herself. She wasn't going to allow any of them to step on her like she did before.

"By the way," she called. "Tell that witch of yours that her prisoner says she is a disgusting hag and I'm not stopping till I'm free too!" His face twisted and one of the galra beside him stifled a giggle.

AHHHH SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE!!! I was so caught up with stuff that I couldn't publish it yesterday. Sorry to make you guys wait...
