What Makes You Beautiful
I was sat up in bed, a blanket covering my waist and below, with a book in my hands. I was lost in this new book I just bought. So it was no surprise I nearly jumped when my phone began ringing. I was in such a rush to grab it, remembering Klaus said he'd have Kol call me tonight, that I didn't bookmark my page. "Hello?" I answered.
"Hi, my darling," Kol's smooth and steady voice came out. "Were you awaiting my call?"
"Yes. I was worried sick about you," I said.
"Well, if you want to see me alive and well, come open your front door," he said.
"You're here?" I gasped, frozen in my spot.
"Mhm. Is that a problem?"
"Well, no. I'm just in a sweater and shorts, reading a book--"
"Are you worried about me not finding you sexy in that? I don't care what clothes are covering your body. I just want to see you. Plus, I spend half our time talking, staring and getting in lost in your eyes or looking at your lips," he said and I blushed.
"Kol!"
"Let me in, Charlie."
"Hold on," I mumbled. I got out of bed, moving my book to my nightstand. I pulled my shorts down as low as they would go before heading downstairs to open the door for Kol. Oh, and Klaus. "Come in," I invited them both.
They both stepped inside my house, looking around it. "I was expecting cute baby pictures of you on the walls," Kol mused.
"I was expecting it to be all pink or something," Klaus smirked at me.
"Ehh. Well, I have a deadbeat mom who's off with some boy toy. A runaway, drug addict older half-sister. Neither of our dads stuck around. So that leaves me and Matty. Not much family stuff hanging around. And he's the main one that works so kinda can't afford to decorate lavishly," I shrugged.
"Well, you won't find a baby picture of either of us because that came a couple centuries after we were born. Our mom is a psycho, our dad is too and abusive. Our oldest brother wanted to sacrifice himself to kill us all tonight. Rebekah is an annoying strumpet, I'm Elijah's least favorite, and Klaus and I only get along if I do as he wishes," Kol told me, smiling softly.
"That slightly makes me feel better," I grinned back at him.
"To be fair, Kol, I only get along with people when they're doing what I want," Klaus shrugged and I rolled my eyes.
"Weren't you just leaving, brother?" Kol asked and I giggled. "Thanks for letting me call her and bringing me here. But you know, I would like to be alone with her now."
"Fine. Goodnight, love," Klaus said. "Goodbye, brother."
Kol nodded, and I waved. "Night Klaus," I responded. He let himself out and then it was just Kol and I.
"So, how was your night? You were reading, right? Is the book any good--" Kol was speaking when I engulfed him in a hug.
His arms wrapped around me seconds later, holding me tight. "I'm alright, my darling."
