Shout Out To My Ex

"Why is Klaus here?" I asked Kol as he parked his car outside of Elena's house.

"Um, I don't know," Kol said. He turned off the car, climbing out so I followed suit. He came to my side, taking my hand. We walked to the porch where Stefan and Klaus stood.

"Elena is not here. Alaric has her and Caroline. He's gonna kill them both unless you turn yourself over to him," Stefan said.

Klaus throws away a folded up newspaper in one hand and puts down a... propane tank? What the hell? "Now I know you're not asking me to walk into a certain death," Klaus scoffed.

"I really wish we could. But unfortunately, if Alaric kills you there's a 1 in 4 chance that we die too," Stefan said. "Same for Kol."

"I'll take those odds," Damon chimed in suddenly, standing in the open doorway behind his brother.

"And a hundred percent chance that Tyler dies," I frowned.

"I'm good with that too," Damon shrugged.

"Why don't we just figure out a way to put Alaric down?" Stefan asked.

"Okay. How about Damon sneaks in and distracts Alaric, while Stefan grabs Elena and carries her to safety," Klaus smiled.

"Huh, that's a great idea," Kol grinned.

"What's to stop me from getting killed instantly?" Damon scoffed.

"Nothing," the originals both smirked.

"Caroline is in there. Don't you have a thing for her? Or did she just reject you too many times?" Damon asked Klaus.

"This isn't really helping too much," Stefan spoke up and I nodded.

Bonnie walked out of the house next. "I might have an idea. My mom used a desiccation spell on Michael that immobilized him for over 15 years. If I can get it, I might be able to use it on Alaric," she said, sitting down on the doorstep in the doorway, next to where Damon stood.

"If and might your words inspire such confidence," Klaus snorted.

"Be nice," Kol ordered.

Bonnie sent my boyfriend a weak, but thankful smile which he acknowledged with a nod. "I'll get it. But even with the spell, we need a lot of vampire muscle to take him down, including yours," Bonnie told Klaus.

"Just so we're clear. The sun sets in about 8 hours. We don't succeed before then, Elena will be dead, Kol and I will be gone and the rest of you will be left to fend for yourselves," Klaus said and Kol punched his arm.

"We're not going to fail because I'm not leaving Charlie here with these idiots and a psycho," Kol scoffed and I squeezed his hand.

An hour later we had a plan. "Well, I'll stay with Bonnie and Lottie while we wait for Abby to show up, Stef. If you, Klaus and Kol can head down to the school," Damon said.
