I forced a polite smile on my face as I accepted my coffee from the barista. My phone buzzed in my hand with another text from Caroline. About twenty minutes ago my friend sent me a text that said she was locked in the library with Elena, Stefan, and April Young. All under Rebekah's compulsion. But she wasn't just texting me about that. She was asking why my boyfriend had showed up twenty minutes ago, dragging in Professor Shane, apparently at Rebekah's request. And now I was getting my own coffee because I was stressed and irritated and I couldn't wait for my obviously preoccupied boyfriend to do so whenever he was done helping his evil sister.

I don't think he knew she was holding us all hostage. But right now he's screaming for creepy professor dude to tell him where the cure is. This is what Rebekah wants. She wants to find it before everyone else without waiting for Jeremy and Klaus —Caroline 👸🏼

I've called him like ten times since you told me he showed up. No answer. And now I'm getting pissed. Why the hell is he helping her? —Me

I sighed, putting my phone down. She told me she was fine and not to show up at the school because she didn't want Rebekah to come after me too. I sipped on my iced latte for a minute, waiting for my phone to buzz with a call or a text or anything from Caroline or Kol. No luck.

I grew impatient and got out of my seat, leaving the small coffee shop. It wasn't Starbucks but right now I didn't care. I was beyond annoyed.

Rebekah let us go. But she brought Tyler and compelled him to shift. He's trying to kill us all and we can't use vamp speed! —Caroline 👸🏼

Whaaaaat?! —Me

I called Kol immediately, worried now. "Hello?" He answered on the third ring. "Are you alright, princess? I'll be home soon."

"Yeah, after you save Caroline," I snapped.

"What?"

"Tyler is loose in the school ready to shift. Get her out of there!" I shouted.

"I will. I promise. Calm down."

I hung up instead of responding. I slammed my phone down onto the dining room table and tried to go back to doing my homework but I couldn't focus. And then my phone buzzing with two texts from Bonnie stole my attention away.

So no I don't think he's better or any different than Damon —Bonnie 🔮
