I was sat on my couch in my apartment typing up a report that was due in a few days when the knock came. Typing the last line, I heard the second, louder and more impatient knock coming from the door. It was probably Allison, back from her date with that guy she met yesterday.

I rolled my eyes and yelled at her to chill the fuck down and that I was coming, before quickly saving my work and hopping off the couch to open the door.

Alexander standing there was probably the last thing I expected. He looked incredibly nervous with his hands fiddling with his sleeves as he shifted from foot to foot.

'Millana!' he looked surprised to see me and that was honestly amusing considering it was my apartment door he knocked on.

'Alexander?' I frowned at him in confusion before making a move to slam the door shut but he put his foot through the gap preventing me from doing so.

'Wait! I need to tell you something?'

I glared at his foot and tried to shove against the door. 'Another business trip? Sure go ahead, next time don't bother telling me.' I groaned, struggling to close the door. I felt him push back against the door making it open wider despite my efforts to slam it shut and he effortlessly slipped through, making me stumble as the door shut.

He stood in my apartment in his unscathed glory, his eyes quickly skimming through the space assessing the area. I gaped at the nerve of him for a moment before placing my hands on my hips and glaring at him.

'What do you think you're doing here?' I snapped, feeling heat rush to my face.

'Visiting my wife who seems to refuse to come back to where we live.' His face was straight but I caught the twinkle of amusement in his eyes.

'Where you live. I live here and I'm perfectly happy and content staying here.' His eyes assessed me for a moment before he gave me a soft smile.

'Still. Lin misses you.' I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

'She'll get over me. You on the other hand, need to leave.' I pointed to the door and when he made no move to exit my apartment, I raised an eyebrow at him.

'Are you suddenly deaf of has your genius of a mind not picked up on the word leave?' I asked crossing my arms over my chest.

He suddenly grinned and I wanted to slap myself for taking a quick second to admire how hot he looked while grinning and then slap him for thinking it was legal to grin so casually and look so perfect doing it but I did neither and just stared at him.

'Aren't you going to at least offer me a drink.' It took everything I had to not strangle him right there right then but instead I gritted my teeth and spun around stomping to the kitchen and pouring some water into a glass.

I heard his footsteps behind me and when I turned to look at him, his hand was outstretched for the water but I rolled my eyes and walked towards the kitchen counter, jumping on and drowning down the water myself in one go.

'Wait an hour and then I'll get you something to drink.' I gave him a sugary smile and suddenly a look of guilt flashed across his face. He shifted uncomfortably and cleared his throat looking so awkward standing there in the middle of my kitchen in his perfect suit and polished shoes.

'What do you want?' I finally asked, sighing loudly when he didn't reply.

'To tell you that I'm sorry.' I rolled my eyes. His face watched me for a second before he coughed animatedly and looked back down.

'For not making it to dinner.' The dinner was a few days ago and an image of Eric's face broke through my thoughts. I swallowed dangerously and watched Alexander's face as he studied me carefully.
