I stood in front of the mirror, smoothing down my cherry red evening down and glancing at my clear reflection. I looked stunning if I don't say so myself. My natural tan made me glow and gave me a youthful and healthy look while the cherry red dress hugged my curves and accentuated every edge of my body. My lips were coated with a gorgeous dark red colour that matched my dress and my hair was up in a high and messy bun, my look, being finished off with a pair of large gold hoop earrings and a gorgeous pair of red pumps.
I pressed my lips together again, assessing myself one last time before deciding I looked as good as I was going to and turned away from the mirror to walk to my bedside table and pick up my phone. Just in time, it seemed because it buzzed to inform me of the arrival of a new message. Alexander's number popped up on the screen and I smiled to myself at sight of the name I had given him, opening his message.
Satan's Asscrack: Hey, I'll be a little late to pick you up, something happened at work and I have to go back. But don't worry, I'll be here soon. Also, I just dropped Arty off so hide while you can, he's not happy with you.
On cue almost, my door slammed open and there in his usual childish glory stood my oh so lovely cousin in law, his eyes blazing and the centre of his fury happened to be little old me. I screamed in surprise and jumped back landing on my bed as I blinked at him.
'You!' he almost growled stalking towards me, his finger pointing accusingly at me.
'Oh, my lovely lovely lovely cousin-in-law! Have I mentioned how much I love you? Because I really really do you know. And I think I'd be better off expressing that love while I'm still alive don't you think?'
'No I do not! How dare you!'
'Well, to be fair you started it!' I defended myself, sitting up on the bed and crossing my arms.
'I thought...I thought we had an understanding!' he screamed at me, his arms waving around in the air.
'What understanding? That you can come over to my house and eat everything and I can't even drop off at your place for some cake?'
'Yes! Exactly that understanding!'
'Well too fucking bad, it doesn't seem like we have an understanding here!' I stood up and raised a perfectly arched eyebrow at him.
'It was the chocolate cake!' he cried in complete agony, his hands pulling at his hair.
'Yes, it tasted amazing by the way.' I smirked slightly.
'It was the last piece! I didn't even get to taste it because your husband's idiotic blood sharers got to it first!' he dropped down onto his knees dramatically and I had to fight to keep a smile off my face. To a sane person, he was over exaggerating but if he were to look at himself he'd justify it as "completely reasonable". Maybe insanity ran in their family.
'I'm aware. It tasted just...oh god! Marvelous!' his face snapped up and contoured into a scowl.
'Lanna do you want to die?'
'Yes, but preferably not today.'
And then he was chasing me. I expected it since Arty being Arty was going to do nothing but attempt to murder me at least once tonight, and thankfully I had a chance to run for the door while he jumped to his feet.
'I'm gonna kill you!' he yelled from behind me. I giggled as I lurched for the stairs, pattering down and grappling to slip off my heels before I fell and broke my ankle.
'Come back here you devil!' Arty was getting closer and I was getting slowed down in attempt to get those bloody heels off. By the time the second heel came off, I felt Arty grab my wrist. I shrieked and hit his shoulder with one of the heels making him seethe out in pain and instantly let go.
