Jack's P.O.V.
"Father Winter, why am I here? Why was I chosen to bring Winter? Why not someone else from Frost?" I asked as I followed Father Winter through the trails, leading to the village.
The old man shrugged as he said, "I can not tell you why you were chosen to leave Frost, Jack. You should know why."
I shook my head no. "Father, everyone hates me. I hear the stories they tell kids, and it's all about me being a bad guy. Why do I have to do this?"
"Jack, you know why. Each child of frost is given a certain task the day they appear. You were one of the youngest, so I took you in as my own. You are Jack Frost, bringer of snow and frost."
I watched as Father Winter gathered up a large snowball and threw it to the trees, coating them with the substance. "Why don't you go frost up the windows, Jack. The humans are asleep at this hour."
With a sigh, I did as told. I jumped into the wind and allowed it to carry me off as I touched the windows of every house I passed by. As I surfed through the roofs, I coated everything with snow. I couldn't hide the fact that I was having so much fun. I cried out with joy as I jumped off, enjoying the sensation of falling.
"Hey wind, take me back to Father Winter!" I cried out. The wind listened and blew me back to him, leaving me in a tree. "Father Winter, am I done for the night?"
He nodded, "you're free for night. Jack, listen to me when I say this and go home. Don't go anywhere else, understand?"
I shook my head as I smiled. "Okay, Father. I'll go back later. I just want to have a bit of fun." Before he could stop me, I was taken away by the wind, heading back for the village.
As the night turned to day, I watched the humans walk around, doing their boring looking jobs, until I noticed a couple of kids begin running around. I decided to have some fun by having piles of snow ready for a perfect fight.
I didn't expect a girl with hair like cinnamon to come out and play. She looked really cute in her pink sweater, and as she twirled around in the snow, I realized that I've been staring. There was something about that girl that made me curious about her.
I hid myself by the trees, hoping they wouldn't see me as they all began the snowball fight, but also wanted to see when they needed more snow. I never expected for that little girl to look at me as she laid on the ground.
"Kid, do you want to play with us?" The girl called out, but I didn't answer. I wasn't sure if she was talking to me or someone else, but her eyes were definitely on me. "Come play! It'll be fun!"
I decided to walk over, so I could join the fun. I ignored the fact that they were all staring at me as if I were something they've never seen before. Knowing humans, this is probably the first time seeing me in person instead of stories.
"What's your name?" the girl with the pink sweater asked.
I thought about it for a second, finding it best if I didn't say my full name. "My name is Jack. What's your names?"
As the others introduced themselves, I tried to ignore the little girl's stares as I listened to the names. I didn't know why she was staring at me in such a weird way, and was kind of afraid to find out.
"And, this is Fawn. She's seven years old and loves to play in the snow" I began to ignore the others as I stared back at Fawn. Most of the village's residents hates my snow because it kills crops, but the kids always enjoy it. It made me happy to hear that my snow makes kids happy.
With a smile, I answered "really? So do I."
"How old are you?" was the question I was used to answering by now. I look like a seven year old boy because I had died as one. Instead of actually dying, my soul was taken to Frost where I got a new life as Jack Frost. I've been around for hundreds of years, since my stories began, and never had a reason to see father time.
