Jack's P.O.V.
"Fear, what should we do now? Father Winter is gone, leaving no one to control winter."
Fear shook his head no, a devilish smile that would scare anyone. I took a step back, unable to keep calm as I stared back at him. Something felt off about him, and it scared me. The closer he got to me, the more I felt like a frightened child.
"What's the matter, Jack? You're not afraid of Fear himself, are you?" he asked, reaching out to me. I felt his hands mess up my hair, wishing he would step away from me. I didn't know why I couldn't feel it before, but Fear isn't giving off the light impression he wore when I met him. It's as if darkness and shadows are surrounding him. No. More like it is him. "I gave you something you were always destined to have. Winter was always meant to be yours alone."
I tried to get away from him, wishing Father Winter could help me, but I couldn't move. My body shivered for the first time in centuries. I suddenly felt... Cold? What is going on? Trying to stay warm, I rubbed my arms as I looked up. Everything around me began to change.
"Jack! Please, say something if you're out here! Jack!" villagers I still couldn't recognized called out to me. "Jack!"
Shaking my head no, I closed my eyes and covered my ears, forgetting the idea of staying warm. "Stop. I don't want to see this!"
"Where are you, Jack!? Please, come home!"
I couldn't move. My entire body felt heavy, almost as if something was weighing me down. Despite this, I could feel hands touching me. I was lifted into the air by an unfamiliar force. I silently begged for the wind to take me home, but it seemed to have abandoned me. I've never felt so alone and afraid before.
"It's good you know who your new master is, Jack. Now, you won't stand in my way when I defeat Father Time." He patted my head as he laughed evilly. "Leaving you like this is almost too cruel, but you were the one who wanted to learn the truth. The more you fear, the stronger I become. Thanks to you, I will soon have all the power I need."
"Jack! Say something to us! Shout if you're out here!"
Behind closed eyes, the only thing I could see was a small, dark field covered in snow. Voices came through the trees, but no bodies followed. Instead, trees tried to grab me, shadows wanted to possess me. The wind wouldn't help me. I was alone, bitterly alone. When I tried to scream, my seven year old voice cried out instead.
It didn't take long for me to realize that I was seven years old again. I sank into the snow with any movement I make. My pale skin looked blue as it began to freeze from the cold. Was this how death felt for me the first time? My teeth wouldn't stop chattering, my breath visible in the winter air.
"You're all alone in that icy prison once again. Enjoy your stay, Jack Frost."
---------------------------Fear's P.O.V.-------------------------
Finally! The time for Father Winter has finally come to an end! My plan was a success! I always heard that Jack Frost, no matter how many hardships he had to go through, loved everyone from Frost, especially Father Winter. Now that he's gone, Jack doesn't know what to do anymore. Oh well. No matter.
"Time to go, Jack. Let the nightmares take you home." I watched as Jack was lifted by my beautiful nightmares and taken somewhere I was sure nobody would look. Underground. I followed close behind, watching as they set the boy down in a small corner. Jack was visibly shivering, holding himself as if in attempt of warmth. "Are you really this weak, Jack?"
Staring at the boy's chest, I smiled as I noticed how well the nightmares have flourished inside him. The boy's heart was almost completely encased in ice. Over the years, I have learned a few things about how to permanently kill a child of Frost. The easiest way to kill one is to simply freeze their heart. Jack had never done anything as a member of Frost to have ever frozen his own heart, but it's more like his power prevented that from happening.
"This is how your life will end. Cold, lonely, and afraid. It's just like your human death all over again." I smiled at him, proud of my power. "I'm so sorry about this, Jack. My original plan was never to kill you."
