Fawn's P.O.V.

We've been flying for about an hour or two with no sign of my papa. What am I going to do if I can't find him? What's going to happen to mama if I can't take care of her? I don't want to be alone. I need to find Papa, because he'll know what to do.

"Don't think to much about it, Fawn. We're going to find him, so don't go scaring yourself," Jack said as he looked down at me. "I promise you we'll find him."

I nodded, hoping he was right. Just then, I noticed his eyes look away into the distance, squinting to see better. "What is it, Jack? What do you see?"

"I think we just found him, but looks like it was a good idea to come find me." Jack brought us down to the ground only for me to see my father almost completely hidden in a pile of snow on the ground. I wasn't sure if Papa was alive or not, and that scared me.

"Papa, wake up. Wake up, Papa." I knelt down beside him, gently shaking him. "You can't stay here. It's too cold for you."

I noticed the snow around him began to melt away as I looked back to Jack. He had one hand out, letting me know he was the one melting the ice. Tears began to stream down my face as I continued shaking my father.

"Fawn, I don't think that's going to work..." Jack said as he looked away from me. "Let's just get him out of here. He needs to get warm before he freezes to death here."

Wiping my tears away with my sleeve, I nodded. "I can't carry him though. He's too heavy." Jack didn't say anything as he threw one of Papa's arms around his neck and supported his weight. "Jack?"

"Come on, he's not dead, but if we don't get him away from the cold, he just might." He gave me a supportive smile as he held out his hand that wasn't wrapped around my father's waist to help me up. "Stop crying and let's go."

I couldn't help but cry a bit more as I took his hand. Jack was willing to help me find Papa, and carry him home. There has to be something I can do to repay him for his kindness. What could I give him?

"I have an idea. I don't know if I could do this for long, but it's the fastest way back to your house. Climb on my back," Jack said, thinking aloud. "If I could carry both of you at the same time, I just might be able to carry you home."

"But won't we be too heavy?" I asked him. "Won't we be too heavy?"

He shook his head no. "The wind can carry me, so as long as I'm holding on to you two, it should be fine. Besides, we don't have a choice. I don't want to leave you here alone."

"My Papa needs you more than I do. Please take him home first. I'll wait here." That made him shake his head no again. "Jack, there is no way you can support us both. Please, take him home first. I'll be right here when you return."

With worried eyes, he asked "are you sure? Is there anyway I can change your mind?"

"No. Now go! Take him back." I gave him a kind smile as I sat myself back down on the snow. "Just don't forget about me, okay?"

With that, he nodded and looked up to the sky. "Let's go, Wind. You know what to do." I watched as Jack was lifted from the ground with my father in tow. Together, they both disappeared in the endless blue sky.

After sitting there for about thirty minutes, I decided to stand, feeling uncomfortable as the cold went through my clothing. That's when I noticed something moving in the distance. It blended in with the snow, despite it's red, glowing eyes.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" I asked as I looked around, hoping there wasn't anymore near by. "Hello?"

Just then, a large wolf jumped out at me, looking fierce as it ran over. I screamed before being pushed onto the floor and being licked all over. I couldn't stop myself from laughing as the wolf continued licking me all over.

"You're a friendly, little guy, aren't you?" I said in between laughs. "What are you doing way out here?"

Just then, the wolf looked away, almost as if sensing someone nearby, and growled. I looked over to see Jack carefully getting close, not wanting to be bit.

"What are you doing playing with a snow hound? I leave you alone for thirty minutes, and come back to find one of these with you."

I sat up and pet the animal, a big smile on my face as I looked over to him. "He's actually very friendly, Jack. Give him a chance."

"No way. These creatures are a nuisance to keep around," Just as he got closer, the snow hound charged at him, but missed as Jack hovered in the air. "If they imprint on you, they won't stop following you for anything. They become very protective. Luckily what you have here is only a puppy."

Judging by the size of the hound, it was hard to believe that it was actually just a puppy. It kind of reminds me of Jack, because, like his hair, the wolf was completely white. It continued to growl until I tried to pull it back.

"There, there, little guy. Jack's a good friend of mine," I whispered, trying to calm it down. "He's not going to hurt me."

The animal seemed to relax enough to let Jack near, but wouldn't let him out of his sight. Jack was clearly annoyed with the hound, making me laugh as he glared at it.

"Well, it's nice to meet your little friend, but it's time for you to say goodbye. Let's go, Fawn." Jack wrapped his arms around my waist, making me blush as he pulled me into him. The dog barked some more before whining. "Go home!"

"That's mean, Jack. He's a nice doggy." Jack chose to ignore me as we continued to fly away, annoyed that every time he looked down, the snow hound was following below us. "See? He wants to come home with me."

He shook his head no. "You don't get it, Fawn. Your friend down there isn't going to let anyone near you. I doubt it's going to let me do anything with you, and I found this really nice place I wanted to show you." He made a pouty face, making me giggle.

I kissed his cheek, making him stare at me, confused. "You looked super cute, almost like a little boy."

"Stop it. I'm not a little kid," Jack tried to hide his smile, but couldn't do it.
