Chapter 13: A night to remember

Cyndiana Collins's POV

The lights were dimmed, the music also seemed to be in our favour. Everything seemed like a beautiful dream to me so perfect as it was one I didn't wanted to wake up from. Our closeness proved to me again that he was the sole owner and proprietor of my heart, he owned my soul , he was the best thing that ever happened to me, I felt safe in his arms. I loved him with all my heart. I always have and I always will. The song's lyrics on which we were dancing were just perfect:

We were so lost in each other's eyes, that we did not even realized that the music had stopped as we just looked at each other, waiting for someone to break the growing silence until he whispered something that I was dying to hear from him into my ears.
"You look gorgeous as always."

I was shocked to hear such big statement from him but happy (Being on cloud nine), I blushed even more and he smiled and a real smile. He then smirked at me. I love him, shocking but true I fell for my half ass boss aka the devil. It was indeed the best night of my life.

Earlier that night

Ryan smith's POV

It's been a while since Blake informed me that they were on their way to the party, I knew she was not familiar to these types of parties so I decided to wait outside for her, I still don't know what she is doing to me, she is all I can think about. I can't blame her, of having one of those sweetest and adorable smile which would make you fall in love with her instantly.

It was getting really cold outside when I felt someone approaching me. It was one of my bodyguards Jake, he greeted me and then handed me my phone telling me that it was important. I was busy talking to the person in call , that I did not even noticed them arriving. When i was finally done talking I noticed her, she was nervous yet elegant in that red gown obviously oblivious of the fact that she looked mesmerizingly beautiful. I hesitated but then I started making my small steps towards her until I noticed her talking to someone and the latter somehow appeared to be familiar to me. Of course, it was one of my business rivals Xavier Rostove . They both looked so happy in their small conversation so I ignored them and headed directly inside the hotel where the party was being held. I was successful in ignoring her and my feelings for her the whole night until Xavier took her to the dance floor, I just couldn't control the anger and jealousy that I felt so I went to the bar and started drinking wine to ignore them. After some time, I just couldn't control my feelings anymore, I ignored everyone and went directly to the dance floor, Xavier was so busy drooling over Cyndiana that he did not even notice me approaching.

At first I hesitated but then I don't know what took over me, I placed my hands on either side of her waist, her body tensed with the immediate contact but then relaxed under my touch. I slowly turned her to me, as I looked at her, she blushed , I couldn't help but smirked at her. As we danced I looked at her furthermore, she looked flawless and beautiful and cute as well as she was trying to fight the sleepiness that she felt. Why was I feeling so connected to her despite trying so hard, I just couldn't ignore staring into that beautiful face of hers and drowning into those amazing hazel eyes of hers. Maybe it's because I have again started to fall in love with her or maybe I always have this giddy feelings towards her but somehow I'm unable to accept. This dance reduced our distance to some extent. It was indeed a perfect night to remember.
