Cyndiana Collins POV

It's been 5 hours since I woke up and there is no trace of Darren. I wonder where he is. Perhaps he went to work I thought. I've already been here but this time it was different. Everything seems so perfect the dimmed lights, the soft mattress and the white curtains surrounding the bed. His room is as huge as my house. The walls are painted in dark colour and all the furniture are white. Everything is simple yet elegant.

Being bored I already unpacked my belongings and changed into a yoga Pant and a white tank top. I was busy exploring the rest of the house when I heard a low growl. It was very faint but I instantly became alert. I started walking through the hall that lead the way downstairs when a voice stopped me.

" Hey, you're Cyndiana right? "

It was the same woman I saw with Darren the other day. How did she get in. I remember Darren saying that he would lock the door before going out so I couldn't escape. Something about her screamed at me to run.
" Yes, but who are you? I replied.

"I'm afraid you know me already", she smirked and laughed darkly. She had this malicious look on her face that could creep you out.

" I'm sorry I don't think I know you."
I lied.

She burst out laughing.

"Well that's good, Darren is mine and you my dear you're a hurdle between us that I will now finally remove. "

In a blink of an eye, she pounced on me, I lost balance and she took that as an advantage to push me further towards the stairs until I felt my head hit the bottom of the staircase. My white tank top was no longer white, it was filled with blood, my own blood. An immense pain hit throughout my entire body. I felt numb but before darkness took over me, I saw her malicious smile again.

Darren Walker POV

I woke up feeling extremely tired and exhausted. To my utter surprise, I was lying in the woods. I tried to stand up but I felt weak. Something was making me weak, then I remembered the sharp plunge in my back. Perhaps it was wolf's bane as it made me weak and reduced my speed and strength.

Someone attacked me but left me alive. Something is not right, I can feel it. Cyndiana, I need to get to her. I somehow managed to reach our house. So ironic, it used to be mine but now it's ours. I rushed inside to see her beautiful face but the sight that I got to see instead had me terrified and frozen to the spot.

There, my mate was lying with a puddle of her own blood surrounding her. It took me a few seconds to finally register the fact that she has just fallen down from the stairs. I immediately rushed to her and took her into my arms.

"Love, can you hear me, please wake up, don't leave me. "
I desperately tried to wake her up but she was too weak to even acknowledge my presence.
I quickly mindlink the pack doctor Bella.

"Get in the pack house right now and prepare everything, the Luna has fallen from the stairs and she is pregnant, she needs immediate care."
I growled at her.

As I brought my mate to the operation theatre, I try to talk to her while she remains unconscious.

"Cyndiana ,love, talk to me. "
I pleaded and cried.
" Please talk to me.
Everything will be fine,
please hold on.
I love you, please don't give up."

"Alpha, you need to step out please  we need to conduct the operation right now. She is serious if we don't operate, we are afraid, we might lose her. "
Bella informs me.

"This is all my fault. I shouldn't have left on her own." I slowly whispered.

"The harm is already done. But I'm afraid you will have to make a choice now. " Bella whispers to me cautiously as though she is afraid of my reaction.
