Chapter 16

*The day of the second quest*

I went down to the Great Hall for breakfast and sat with Bryson and Millicent. I didn't see Hermione, Ron, or Draco.

"Hey, do you guys know where Draco is?" I asked.

"No, he hasn't shown up yet."

"That's odd..." I replied.

I had found the gillyweed I needed and was wearing my swimsuit under my robes.

Then at a certain time, I went down to the black lake. There were bleachers around it and I saw some of the other champions next to the black lake's bank.

Harry wasn't there, though. We were about to start and I had pulled off my robes so that my swimsuit was visible.

Harry ran up at the last second and pulled off his robes.

"Harry! Where were you?" I whispered to him.

"Library!" He replied, panting.

"Ok, also do you know where Hermione and Ron are?" I asked, hopeful.

"No, not Hermione, but Ron's at the bottom of the lake," Harry said calmly.

"What??? Is he dead?" I asked, freaking out a little.

"No, it's just that the thing you'll miss most is at the bottom of the lake, that what we need to get!" Harry explained.

I got a sick feeling in my stomach.

'What if Malfoy was the one down there for me? I can't let anyone see that!' I thought worriedly.

"Y/n, are you ok? You look like you've just seen a ghost!" Harry exclaimed.

I shook my head. "No.. I mean yes! I'm fine!" I stammered.

A sharp whistle blew through the air and I stuffed the gillyweed into my mouth, swallowing hard.

"Ugh.." I mumbled then dove in.

It felt weird. Like I was transforming into something else. I suddenly got really fast at swimming and I saw my hands were webbed, like a duck.

Eager to make sure Harry didn't see if it was Malfoy or not, I swam fast, getting there quickly.

(A/N: Yeah in like 30 minutes!!)

I saw a bunch of mermaids guarding the place, and Krum pulling Hermione up.

I swam farther down and saw Draco tied up to the tail of a large stone merman.

'Well crap..' I thought and took a sharp rock to cut him free.

I then swam up and got to about halfway there when I noticed the gillyweed starting to wear off.

I swam faster and saw it getting lighter, so I knew I was getting to the surface.

"Y/n Potter has completed the task!" a voice called out as I got to the surface.

I lifted Draco onto the bank of the lake and got onto the bank next to him.

I just lay there and rested.

I sat up and looked to see Harry holding Ron and a young blonde girl.

I realized it was Fleur's sister. Fleur had come up earlier because her plan hadn't worked.

Draco had gotten up earlier and gone into the stands, and Harry climbed up onto the bank with me.

"Hey Y/n. Great job..." Harry panted.

"Thanks, Harry, you too!" I said, hugging him.

I then helped him up and we got our scores. Then we went back into the castle.
