Harry and I walked into Umbridge's office at 5 o'clock sharp the next day. Her office was pink and covered with ceramic plates with kittens on them.
"I'll have you both be doing lines," she said, and I moved to get my quill. "Oh, no, I have a special quill for you. You won't need to use your own."
Umbridge pulled out two black quills and handed one to each of us.
"You will be writing 'I must not tell lies'."
We sat down in a chair and pulled out some parchment. I started writing and noticed a pain in my writing hand. The ink on the parchment was red.
I looked at my hand and saw the words, "I must not tell lies" written on them, bleeding slightly.
My eyes widened and I glanced up at Harry, who's hand looked the same.
'I can't show weakness...' I thought, continuing to write.
The hour passed by slowly.
"You may leave," Umbridge said, and we gratefully handed back the quills and parchment.
Harry and I grabbed our stuff, quickly walking out of the office.
"Harry... this is torture!" I said, holding my wrist.
"I know, but we can't show any weakness," he replied, doing the same.
"We need to tell someone!"
"We can't."
"Why not?" I demanded, stopping in my tracks.
"Because then she'll give us more detentions. She'll be pleased," said Harry, continuing to walk.
"I'm going back to my House, say hi to Ron and Mione for me, please," I said, turning toward the dungeons.
"See ya."
I walked away, glancing back at Harry, who was walking to his House.
I entered my common room after saying the password, "Pureblood."
Grabbing my book and cat from my dorm, I headed back down to sit by the warm fire. The common room was nearly empty, except for the few students who either hadn't gone to or had already left dinner.
I sat on the couch by the fire and started reading, Shadow curled up next to me.
It was calm.
Soon, a bunch of students began filing into the common room, some in groups, others alone.
I saw Millicent and Bryson enter.
"Y/n! We didn't see you at dinner, did you eat?" Bryson asked with a worried expression. His brown hair looked golden in the firelight.
"No, I skipped out on dinner today. I wasn't very hungry," I added.
"Oh, don't go without meals too much, ok?" Millicent said, heading up to the dorm.
Bryson followed suit, up to his dorm.
I went back to reading until the common room began emptying.
I looked over to the door and saw it open. Crabbe and Goyle walked in, and I knew who was coming in next.
Pansy Parkinson clung to Draco's arm as they walked in.
"Aw, Dracie-poo, you didn't eat very much, are you feeling well?" she asked, faking a worried face.
"I'm fine, and didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?" Draco said, shoving her off.
"Ok, Draco, goodnight!" Pansy blew a kiss at him before going to her dorm.
Draco scowled, and started to head towards the boys' dormitories, but stopped when he saw me.
"Y/n! I thought you had gone to bed, you weren't at dinner...." he said, coming to sit with me.
"I wasn't really hungry. Anyways, wouldn't you rather spend time with Pansy?" I said, hiding my hand.
"What? No! I absolutely hate Pansy! I'd much rather spend time with you!" Draco said, and I shut my book.
My hand stung slightly as I hid it from Draco. I just couldn't let him see it.
"I'm glad to hear you say that. She sure is clingy," I said, resting my head on his shoulder.
Shadow stood up and climbed into Draco's lap.
"Mrow..." my kitty said before going back to sleep.
Draco looked a bit shocked, but he then smiled.
"Your kitty likes me!"
"Apparently so, and she's normally quite shy around newcomers...." I said, scratching Shadow's head.
Shadow moved a little, and I touched her nose.
"What's this?" Draco asked, pointing to the white crescent moon on her forehead.
She then stood up and walked across the room.
"Shadow?" I said, to no one in particular.
I heard a whoosh and a tall girl appeared where Shadow had stood.
(A/N: This is Shadow. Her cat form is on her shoulder, except with the moon)
"Whoa...." Draco and I said together.
We looked at each other.
I then stood up and walked over to her.
"Shadow?"
"My name is not Shadow, it's Star," she said, in a sweet but serious voice.
"Oh, ok then. You know me, right?" I added.
"Yes. You are Y/n Potter, the girl who had adopted my animagus form. I was like that because I was under a curse where I had to be stuck in that form for a hundred full moons," Star explained.
I gave her a questioning look.
"I was walking in my cat form along the street once, and a man found me," she began, moving some of her hair, "took me to his home, and cast a spell to make me transform back. He thought I looked nice, so he tried to force me into living as his servant. When I refused, he got upset and cursed me. It is the night of the final moon, so I am finally able to transform back."
I saw the crescent moon on her forehead.
"I'm sorry if this is a sensitive topic, but how did you get the... the... -?" I started.
"The scar? This is where the curse hit me, I now have a crescent moon scar on my forehead," she finished.
I nodded. "Draco? Anything you want to ask?"
"Um... do you know who cursed you?" Draco asked, standing up.
"A man who claimed to be Cassius Parkinson."
"Pansy's father?" Draco wondered aloud.
Star frowned. "And you are... Draco Malfoy?"
Draco nodded slowly.
"Are you two dating?" Star asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Yeah," we said together.
I looked at Draco and we shared a smile.
"My name is Star Malfoy. Draco, I'm your lost twin."
