Chapter -20

Lionel's POV

Have you ever been in a situation where you are not able to decide whether you should happy that you're seeing your bestfriend or be pissed because he's openly flirting with your girlfriend.

"Drake I'll kill you asshole!" I growled at him. He glanced at me with an amused smile.

I knew that this jerk was clearly enjoying my pissed off mood.

"Mr.Ramirez, I think you should leave. Too much stress is not good for Lionel." She said sternly.

"But I wasn't even finished with my pick up lines. Wait... The next one is the best..." he started saying but Kate cut him off before he could start with another pick up line.

Yes.. That's what my best friend was doing from the past half an hour.

He kept on saying cheesy and funny pick up lines to which even Kate started laughing later on.

"You should leave if you want your bestfriend to get well soon. As I said earlier, stress is not good for him." she said as she crossed her arms.

Drake put his arms on his chest faking hurt.
" You hurt me a lot princess.But I'll leave you love birds alone for now.
But take care of my brother here." He said the last part seriously and Kate scowled at him.

Kate always hated being ordered.
Drake turned towards me and bid goodbye by patting my bruised arm but careful enough not to hurt too much. But still it hurt. Jerk!

Kate let out a deep breath after Drake left. She turned towards me showed me her beautiful smile.

God help my heart when she smiles like that! I looked at her in adoration. I felt so lucky to have her with me.

"Stop looking at me like that." She said
"Like what?" I patted the space next to me on bed,indicating for her to sit.
She complied without protest.

"Like you feel lucky to have me by your side, like I'm the most beautiful thing to happen to you etcetera ... etcetera ..." She said

"You really are the most beautiful thing that happened in my life. I love you Katherine. I feel complete when I'm with you." I said as I held her little hand in my big ones.

She leaned in and kissed me. She was about to pull away but I stopped her and deepened the kiss.

I bit her lower lip, asking for entrance and she gladly let me. Our tongues fought for dominance and I won.

We pulled away after we both were breathless. She placed her forehead on mine and smiled.

"I love you too Lio."

Drake's POV

I walked out of Lio's room with a heavy heart.
I was an arrogant bastard, a manwhore, but I never thought that I'd fall for a girl at first sight.

I'd seen Katherine Xavier in many magazines and tabloids. I thought that she was hot. I remembered that Lionel had told me that he was dating his boss. But I forgot to connect the dots. Maybe because I'm almost always drunk when I'm not doing any surgeries.

But when I met her today, she captured my heart with her fiesty attitude.

I had never seen such a powerful woman in my life before. But any guy would get nervous in Katherine's presence.

She was stubborn, arrogant, witty and captivating.

But my love for this petite powerful woman is forbidden.
Because, Lionel was not just a friend, he was family.

He had suffered a lot in his life. He was very happy arround Katherine.
His eyes shone brightly when he looked at her.

I knew that he loved her a lot. So, I should get far away from Katherine.
I can never take her away from him because it will break his heart.

I came to a firm decision and called my dad. He picked up after two rings.
"Well, this is a first time you're calling me on your own. What's the matter rascal?" His voice boomed through the mobile.

"Dad, I'll marry that girl." I said as my voice trembled.

There was a silence for few seconds before he talked again. "I'm sorry I didn't hear you properly, can you please repeat it son?" he said as if he couldn't believe his ears.

I cleared my throat again and this time with a firm voice I said " I said that I'll marry Sophia. Please arrange the wedding as soon as possible."

I disconnected the call before he could reply. I decided to forget Katherine for the sake of my bestfriend.

Because I could never see his heart shattered. Lionel was a good man and he deserved all the happiness in this world.

I wiped the lone traitor tear that escaped from my eyes as I entered my car.
