(Y/N)'s POV
It's been about a month since school's started again.
Aphmau talked to me at least once a day. I wouldn't say we were really friends though.
I found it really weird being talked to, though. Freshman year was incredibly lonely. But it was fine, I didn't really mind it.
"(Y/N) (L/N)?" I was pulled away from my thoughts when Mr. San Miguel called my name.
"Y-yes?" I stuttered, still a bit startled.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"U-uh." I looked around the room. All eyes were on me. "N-no."
I heard a few laughs and a few whispers made their way around the room.
Mr. San Miguel quieted them, then looked at me. "You'll be partnered up with Laurance Zvhal for this assignment."
I looked to my left, and there was Laurance Zvhal, in the front of the classroom. He was staring at me.
I quickly looked away and looked back at my biology teacher. "Okay."
He nodded, and went back to listing partners.
A project with Laurance Zvhal. How interesting.
When San Miguel was finished with the list, he let us move desks to sit with our partners. I was about to move up to the front to sit with Laurance, but he was already sitting right next to me by the time I was standing up.
"(Y/N). We've met before." He grinned.
I decided to mess with him a little. I gave him a confused look. "When? I've never seen you before in my entire life."
The brunette boy smirked. "Is that so? Then why did you immediately look my way when you were told I was your parnter? You could've said 'who's Laurance?' But you didnt."
I chuckled. "Oh, so you pay attention to things."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
I shrugged. "Whatever you want it to mean. Now, about the project. Obviously, I wasn't paying attention. What's this project on?"
"The scientific method." Laurance answered.
"Oookay." I nodded slowly. "What about it?"
"We have to make a hypothesis and test it out various times to see if our hypothesis is correct or not. And we have to take pictures of the experiments and make a poster board."
"That's easy." I say. "How long do we have to finish it?"
"Three weeks." Laurance shrugged. "That's more than enough time."
"Okay. So where are we gonna do it? Your house or my house?" This was an awkward question. Last time I had a partner project, it was with Katelyn. She's a female. Laurance is a male.
"Uh, I have a sister. And she can get in the way. Do you have any siblings?" He asked.
"No. My dad's usually home though. I doubt he'll have a problem with it." I said. "We can do it at my place."
"Alright, cool!" He smiled. "When do you wanna start it?"
"Um. Today?" I shrugged. "The sooner we finish this, the better."
"Okay." He nodded. "I'll stop by your house after soccer practice. And, I'll get the poster board and everything else. You don't need to worry about that."
"No." I shook my head. "We should split the supplies equally."
"(Y/N), it's fine. I got it." It took him awhile to persuade me, but he eventually did.
