(Y/n)'s POV
When I walked into my house, my dad was already awake in the livingroom. He was watching TV and eating dino nuggets. I laugh at the scene in front of me.
"Oh, (Y/n)! Back so soon? I thought you'd be staying after school with your friends like you usually do." He said, and ate another dino nugget.
"Yeah, I planned on it. But Laurence wants me to meet him at (favourte restaurant) when he gets out of practice so I came home straight after school to get ready."
"Oh, like, on a date?" He grinned.
"I think so. He didn't say it was a date but I'm going to assume that it's a date." I blush. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go get dressed."
I ran up to my room and looked at myself in my mirror. I decided on no makeup. Too much effort and took way too much time.
I undressed from my uniform and put on some comfortable dark jeans. I decided on a black hoodie with (f/c) designs on the chest area. I put on some black vans and then brushed my (h/c) hair. It had gotten tangled throughout the day. I didn't think dressing up would be necessary.
Then, I went downstairs to watch TV with my father.

I guess I had fallen asleep, because I woke up to my dad shaking me. "(Y/n), it's 5:50! You're gonna be late to see Laurence."
I awoke quickly. "Aw fuck."
"Language." He laughed. "I'll drive you. You'll be late if you walk."
"Thanks, dad!" I give him a quick hug. "You're a life saver!"
He gives me a disgusted look. "Those are the worst candy to ever exist."
I roll my eyes playfully and grab the keys from the kitchen counter, then made my way outside the house.
I hop into the passenger's seat, and turn on the car for my dad.
He walks into the drivers seat and pulls out the driveway. "Are you excited?"
I grin. "Very."
"(Y/n), are you dating this guy?"
"Well, I think that this is a date. But he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend yet. I'm still waiting."
"Why don't you make the move? Isn't that what girls are doing? I've even seen girl's proposing. Who would've thought it'd come to that!" He smiled.
"Hey, we live in a world full of open-minded people. It's great. But I'll let him suffer through the fear of being rejected. I'm sure he's never had to go through with that since he's popular and all. Who knows, maybe he's not even nervous about it." I shrug. "I mean, I have made it clear that I do have feelings for him so maybe he already knows what my answers going to be."
"Well, I have the biggest feeling that he plans on asking you to be his girlfriend tonight!" He says enthusiastically, parking in front of (favorite restaurant). "By the time you want to go home, I'll be asleep. Please don't walk home after dark. There's been plenty of gang activity around the neighborhood lately. I don't want you getting hurt. If Laurence can't take you home, just call me. I'll wake up if I have to."
I nod. "I will. Don't worry, dad."
I lean over and kiss his cheek, then make my way out of the vehicle.
Laurence's POV
It was 5:57. I had gotten to the restaurant early. I wanted to get here before (Y/n) so that she wouldn't awkwardly sit by herself until I showed up.
