(Y/n)'s POV
I was organizing my locker when I heard my boyfriend's voice calling me. I smiled and turned around. He grinned. "Hey, (Y/n)."
"Did you want something?" I asked.
"Actually, I wanna ask you something. You know how it's prom season?"
"Mhm." I returned to organizing my locker. "If you're gonna do a promposal type of thing, just know that we're sophomores and that's not our dance. Not until next year, at least."
I could hear Laurence half laugh and half sigh from behind me. "I know that. This isn't a promposal." He says, hugging me from behind and nuzzling into my neck.
I blush madly. "Then what are you asking?"
"Well, on the day of prom, do you want to do something? Just you and me?" He asks.
I close my locker and turn to look at him. "What do you have in mind?"
He shrugs. "Something casual. We can watch (favorite movie series) all night with a bunch of snacks and cuddle."
I smile and lay my head on his chest. "That sounds like fun."
He wraps his arms around my torso and lays his chin on mt head. "So is that a yes?"
"Of course." I grin and look up at him.
He leans down and places his lips on top of mine. I smile into the kiss, and after a few seconds, we both pull away.
"Also, do you want to come to my place after school? And possibly stay for dinner? I would like for you to meet my family."
"It's about time you ask me." I say. "We always hang out in my house and you've had dinner with me and my dad many times. I've never even stepped foot in your house."
He rubs the back of his neck nervously and shrugs. "Your house is comfortable. But my sister has been dying to meet you and my father asked me to invite you over today."
I smile. "It sounds great. I'll watch you practice with the soccer team and then we'll leave together. I'll just text my dad about it."
The bell rang, and a look of annoyance spread across Laurence's face. "That sounds great. I'll see you next period, love." He leaned down and pecked me on the lips, hugged me, then turned and headed to his class.
I silently squealed at the fact that he called me "love", and then went to my first period.
~
"Come on, Laurence! You got this!" I yelled from the bleachers. The soccer team was split up into two teams to practice against each other. Usually, I wouldn't be cheering. But now that Laurence and I were in a relationship, I kinda felt like it was my duty to do so.
I watched as Laurence hit the soccer ball into the goal, winning the game. I clapped as my boyfriend got a few pats on the back from his teammates.
A dude walked up to Laurence and said something to him that I couldn't hear. A shade of red made its way accross Laurence's face. He looked over at me, then back at the guy and said something to him.
I watched as Laurence went into the locker room to go change and waited for him to come back out.
When he did, I got up and kissed his cheek. "What were you and that guy talking about?" I asked.
He blushed again and snaked his arms around my waist. "He told me I was lucky to have such a supportive girlfriend."
"Oh?" I grinned. "And What'd you say?"
He shrugged. "I agreed with him."
I smiled and lifted myself on my tip toes to kiss him.
After a few seconds, he pulled away. "Come on, it's almost time for dinner. Hayden's probably waiting."
"Hayden?" I ask.
He takes my hand and leads me down the bleachers in the direction of the parking lot. "Uh, he's my dad. I just don't call him dad. It's a little out of nature for me since I was adopted."
"Makes sense. What's your sister's name?" I ask.
"Cadenza." He replies. We made it to his car. He opened the door for me and smirked.
I giggle and get in. "Thank you."
He closes it and heads over to the drivers seat.
I buckle the seatbelt and look at him. "How does it feel to have a sibling?"
Laurence pulled out of the parking spot and began to drive to his house. "Hmm. Well, I guess it depends on what mood both of us are in and if we're pissed off at each other or not. But I guess overall, it's not lonely. I'm able to go to Cadenza for anything. And she can come to me. We've made that clear with each other. If we want to escape from everyone at school, we hang out with each other. We've always been very close. I mean, when I was adopted it was pretty weird for the both of us but we think of each other as actual biological siblings."
I smile and look out the window. "I'll never know what it's like to have a sibling. I mean there's a chance. If my dad finds someone else to love and has a child with them, then I'll have one. But I dont think we'd ever be very close because of how big of an age gap there would be. But it's whatever. My dad has always made sure that I don't feel alone in the house."
Laurence took my hand and intertwined our fingers. "Has your dad ever tried dating again?"
I shook my head. "From what I know, he hasn't. I don't think he wants to be with someone else. I think he wants to stay loyal for my mom even though.. she's gone. I wish that he would, though. He seems so lonely."
Laurence brought my hand to his mouth and lightly kissed it. "Maybe one day fate will be generous enough to bring someone to him."
I smile and look over at Laurence. "I hope so."
