(Y/n)'s POV

"God damnit, Laurence. Where are you?" I asked to no one and kicked a rock.

Laurence had asked me to meet him at the park so we could begin our journey of looking for a sport I could decently play.

I sigh as I climb a tree and sit on a huge branch. I've been waiting for about twenty minutes.

I felt my phone buz in my pocket and took it out to see a text from my boyfriend.

It still felt a little weird saying that.

'Hey, (Y/n)! Sorry I'm running late! I got caught up on homework and didn't realize what time it was.' - Laurence

I slightly smile and reply.

'Nah don't worry about it. Hurry up, though. I've been waiting for forever.'

A few minutes later, Laurence was walking below the tree that I was sitting on.

I broke off a small branch and threw it at Laurence. When it hit him, he looked up looking confused.

"It's about time!" I exclaim.

He grinned when he saw me. "How'd you get up there?"

I shrug. "Climbing. Try it." I pat the spot on the huge branch next to me.

Laurence begins to climb the tree and appears to be having trouble towards the end. I reached my hand out to him. "Here, I'll help you."

He took my hand and I helped him get on the branch. When he made himself comfortable, he wrapped his arms around my shoulders and kissed my head. "Hi." He said.

I giggled a bit. "Hi, Laurence."

"Sorry I took forever." He apologized.

"Hmm. You'll have to make it up to me." I said, looking into his blue eyes.

"Make it up to you how?" He asks.

I shrug. "I don't know. That's for you to figure out."

He leaned against the trunk of the tree and let both his legs hang from the branch.

"Come here." He said.

I blushed and scooted over to him. I had to also hang my legs off the edge in order to face him.

He leaned over and kissed me passionately. I smiled into the kiss and wrapped my arms around his neck.

This had turned into a very heated makeout session.

I pouted when Laurence pulled away. That caused him to chuckle. "So, did I make it up to you?"

I blushed and hid my face in his chest. "Mhm."

"Okay, come on. We came here for a reason, (Y/n)." Laurence said, pulling me away from him slightly.

"But I'm comfortable here." I complained.

He smiled. "We can come back later."

"Fine." I sighed. I looked down. "Do you think I'd be able to jump that?"

Laurence looked down. "No, you'd break your leg. Or even worse, you'd break your neck."

Laurence began cllimbing down the tree and I went down after him.

"Come on, let's start with soccer since it's the sport I know best." He said, heading to the soccer field.

I ran after him and held his hand in mine. "I already told you I'm not going to be good for soccer. I'm not a fast runner."

"We'll see."

Thirty minutes had gone by, Laurence had taught me the basics of the sport, but decided that I was right about not being fast enough.

Next, we tried Softball. I was actually pretty good at it but couldn't hit the ball hard enough.

The third sport we tried was volleyball. Unfortunately, Laurence has absolutely no idea how volleyball worked. So he called up Katelyn and Nicole to help.

They took about ten minutes to get to the park. I had never met Nicole before so I was a little anxious.

"Hey, you two!" Katelyn greeted as she walked up to us in the volleyball court. She was holding a volleyball in her hand.

Nicole was right behind her. She walked up to me and held out her hand. "Hi, I'm Nicole! Katelyn's mentioned you a few times to me. She says you're pretty cool so I'm happy to hang out with you."

"Hi, I'm (Y/n). I've heard only good things about you too." I said, shaking her hand.

"Okay, so. You wanna learn how to play volleyball, right?" Katelyn asks.

"Mhm. I wanna see if I'm good at it." I say.

Katelyn goes over the basics of volleyball.

"Okay. I think I get the rules." I say.

"Good. Now time for the physical part. We're gonna play a little round." Nicole grins.

"Laurence and (Y/n), you guys can be a team and I'll team up with Nicole." Said Katelyn.

"That's not fair. Both of you are experts at the game and Laurence and I have no clue what we're doing." I state.

"Exactly. You'll learn faster this way."

We all got onto our spots on the volleyball court and played the game.
Honestly, I was pretty good at it. I had a really good time playing the sport, too. We ended playing way more than intended. By the time we got tired, it was nightfall.

"Wow, (Y/n)! I'm impressed!" Exclaimed Katelyn.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I am too. Sadly, volleyball season passed. But you should totally try out next year! We'd be lucky to have you on the team!" Nicole said.

I grin. "Sure! I'll be waiting for tryouts."

Katelyn and Nicole say their goodbyes and leave the park. I look over at Laurence.

He grinned and grabbed my waist, pulling me close. "I knew you'd be good at something."

I blush. "Thanks for helping me, Laurence."

He smiles and kisses me softly. "Anytime. Now, come on. I'll take you home."

"But you said we could go back to the tree!" I reminded him.

"Now? It's getting late."

I shrug. "It's not that late Laurence. Besides, I don't have anyone else to spend time with."

He rolled his eyes playfully and took my hand in his. "Okay fine, let's go."

We sat in the tree for hours. I had my head resting on his chest and he rested his on the top of my head. We talked throughout the rest of then night and I enjoyed every moment of it.

A/n!

I sure do hope you enjoyed this chapter! If not, I'm sorry.

Volleyball was requested to be the sport that y/n's good at so there you go! You'll be on the volleyball team in the next book when you and Laurence are juniors!
