(Y/n)'s POV
Me and Laurance watch as Ivy hands glittery pink envelopes to people down the hall.
"What's she doing?"
"Throwing a party, I believe." He says, answering my question.
I face crunches up in digust. "Who the hell would wanna go to one of her parties?"
He smiles down at me and shakes his head. "Everyone, actually. She may be awful, but her parents are filthy rich. She hosts the best birthday parties every year."
"So it's her birthday."
"Shouldn't you know all this, stalker?" He smirks.
"Watch it, bud." I grin and punch his arm playfully. He laughs.
"Hey guys!" Garroth walks up to us with a smile. "What are you two up to?"
"We're watching Ivy give invitations to her birthday party, I guess."
"Oh. Do you wanna go? I could probably get us invitations." Garroth smiles. "Ivy thinks of me as a good friend."
"She's a rat." I comment.
"She's just.. Insecure." Garroth says.
"I'll believe that when I see that." I sigh. "But I don't need an invi-"
"GARROTH!" Ivy runs over.
"Oh, hi Ivy. We were just talking about your party." He smiles.
"Were you?" Ivy looks at me and Laurance, then at Garroth. "I have an invitation just for you, Garroth~"
Garroth smiles as Ivy hands him a glittery pink envelope. This one had a red heart on it.
"Say, Ivy. How about you give me a few more of those? I have a few friends I wanna invite."
I look at Garroth in shock. He was actually getting us invitations.
Ivy growls under her breath. "Who are you planning on taking?"
"Just a few friends." Garroth keeps his face friendly.
"Hm. Okay. Only for you." She flutters her eyelashes at him and hands him quite a bit of envelopes. After blowing him a kiss, she leaves.
"And Garroth strikes again." Laurance grins, taking two of the envelopes and hands one to me.
"I was just being nice." Garroth shrugs. "I should get going, though. I gotta go give these to the others."
Once Garroth's out of sight, Laurance turns to me. "Do you, uh, wanna go to the party with me?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Like a date?"
He stiffens up. "No! Just as.. Friends.."
I smile a little. "Sure, why not?" Then I formed. "Actually shouldn't you ask the girl you like to go with you?"
Laurance looked a little off for a second before putting himself together. "Nah."
"O-kay."
"Uhm. (Y/n), I'm gonna get to class. I'll see you later." Laurance begins to walk off.
I smile and wave. "Later!"
I head the opposite direction from him and begin to open my invitation.
I begin to read it.
Ivy's Sweet Sixteen!
Be ready, this'll be the best party yet! My parents are going all out! You MUST have this invitation to attend.
Gifts are required or you will be asked to leave.
~love, the most popular girl at Phoenix Drop High
I stopped in my tracks. How the hell was I going to get Ivy a birthday present? I didn't even know her. I didn't even want to get her a birthday present.
When I made it to Spanish 2, the teacher told us to stand against the wall. He was giving us new seats.
Once everyone was in their newly assigned seats, I looked over at my new partner. He had jet black hair, black eyes, fairly tanned skin, and lots of bruises and small healed cuts all over him.
"Hi! I'm (Y/n). Sophomore. Nice to meet you." I extend my hand.
He eyes me carefully then shakes my hand. "Aaron. Senior."
"Senior? But this is a sophomore and junior class." I stare at him blankly, examining him even more. He looked familiar. I'd probably seen him around before.
"Yeah, well this class is also open to seniors who began taking spanish late their junior year." He huffed.
"Oh, i'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you." I frown.
He looks at me for a few seconds, then at his desk. "No, it's not your fault."
"So, uh. I don't see you around school much. I'm assuming you're not in the social circle." I say.
"Not even a little." He chuckles. "You one of those suspicious kids who know alot about everyone?"
"Uh. Kinda but not really." I shrug.
"You strike me as the type. But you hang out with the popular kids."
"So you know of me." I smirk.
"Yeah. Alot of people do. You're known as the girl who follows Laurance around." Aaron says.
"What the hell, really?" I look at him.
He smirks. "No. But people do know you exist since you hang around him alot."
"How do you know?"
"I hear things."
"You eavesdrop."
"So do you."
"Mrs. (L/n), Mr. Lycan. Are you with the class?" The spanish teacher sternly says.
I sigh and bring my attention back to the front.
"I'm assuming you don't have any friends?" I whisper.
"I have one." Aaron growls a little.
"Well, Mr. Eavesdrop. Now you have two."
"Who says I wanna be your friend?" He asks.
I ignore the question and smile when I hear him chuckle.
Aaron. The name sounded familiar. Oh! It's who Kawaii-Chan ships Aphmau with.
"Is your other friend Aphmau?" I ask.
"What? You mean the little runt in my werewolf class? No."
"Oh, you two don't get along?" I raise an eyebrow.
"I don't think she's very fond of me." He shrugs. "You close with her?"
"I don't think so. The person I talk to the most is Laurance. I'd say Aphmau is kinda a friend. We never really hang out unless it's with the whole group."
"Oh." He frowns a little. "Are you and Laurance together?"
My face heats up the second he asked that question. "No."
"Bummer." He laughs.
"Why?"
"He seems to have an interest in you."
"Laurance likes this other chick." I shrug.
"I don't think so. But sure."
.. Could Laurance like me?..
