(Y/n)'s POV
"Are you interested in me?" My smirk probably made me look confident. But really, I was incredibly nervous to be asking that question. I knew the answer already. But still, my heart was beating about ten times faster than normal, my palms were incredibly sweaty.
"I very much am, actually." Laurence said. He was looking me straight in the eyes. "(Y/n), I really like you. And I mean, not like a friend. I mean- if you don't like me then I wouldn't mind still being your friend." I giggled at his stuttering. "But I really really like you. And I- I don't think I've ever felt this way about anyone else. I mean, I've had girlfriends in the past but I honestly didn't really like them. They weren't who I was looking for. Um, (Y/n), will you be my girlfriend?"
I grinned, and I felt my cheeks grow warm. "It's about time you ask. Yes, Laurence, I'll be your girlfriend."
Laurence smiled his really goofy smile. It wasn't his sly 'popular boy' smile that I see everyday, it was his genuine smile that I noticed he only let's me see. "I can't wait to spend the rest of the year with you, and next year, and senior year too. Maybe even college."
"Uh, if I make it to college. I'm sure you will, but I'm not so sure about myself."
Laurence's smile disappeared. "Why do you say that?"
"Well, my grades aren't the best. You know that. And without the good grades, I cant get an academic scholarship. And I'm sure you've noticed that my family doesn't have the money to get me into college by paying for my tuition." I frown.
His grip on my hand tightened. "I'll help you with your grades. You'll pass all your classes. I'll do everything I can to help you get a scholarship. But don't worry too much, we're only sophomores. We have two more years left of high school."
I smiled weakly. "Thanks, Laurence."
Laurence smirked. "Hey, what if you join a sport?"
Shock made its way across my face. "A sport?"
"Yeah! It'll give you a bigger chance at winning yourself a scholarship!" He smiled.
"Laurence, I'm not a sport type of person. I don't even know how to throw a ball."
"So I'll teach you. We'll play different sports and see which one you're good at and enjoy the most. We'd be able to find one eventually."
I hid my smile with my hand. "Laurence, you don't have to do that."
"I know." He grinned. "But I want to help you."
"You don't even know if I want to go to college."
"Do you?" He asks, raising his right eyebrow.
I sigh. "I do. I want to go to Falcon Claw University."
"I do too." He smiles. "So, I'm going to help you get in."
"Thanks, Laurence."
He smiled at me. Then looked over to the kitchen. "Where the hell is our waitress? It's literally been like thirty minutes."
I shrug.
Eventually, she came back. We had our meals, and eventually Laurence took me home. I wanted to walk, but he insisted. I would've denied if it wasn't for the fact that my dad had told me not to walk home.

When I walked into Phoenix Drop High the next day, I took notice that I was getting looks. People would look at me, look away, and whisper something to their friend. I didn't like it.
"(Y/n)-sama~!" I turn around to come face to face with, the one and the only, Kawaii~Chan. "(Y/n)~sama! Kawaii~Chan heard that (Y/n)~sama and Laurence~Kun are now dating! Is what Kawaii~Chan heard correct?"
"Where did you hear that, Kawaii~Chan?" I ask.
"Well Kawaii~Chan heard it from a group of students by the cafeteria." She shrugged.
"Um, yeah. It's true. Laurence asked me out last night." I answered, blushing.
"HNnnNNNNNNNnn KAWAII~CHAN'S SHIP HAS SAILED!" She took off. Just like that.
I looked around to find some familiar faces. Eventually, I spotted Aaron at a corner. It's been awhile since we had a friendly conversation outside of spanish class, so I approached him.
"Hey, long time no see." I said, sitting next to him on the grass.
He looked over at me, and half smiled. "(Y/n), we see each other every day."
"Yeah, but never outside of class."
"Touche." He grins, but then frowns again. "I've heard the things people have been saying about you."
I look away and anxiously play with the grass, ripping pieces out from the dirt. "Yeah. Thankfully, it's died down a little bit but.. people are still talking."
"Well, I know it's not true. You know it's not true. Your friends know it's not true. And honestly, that's all that matters."
"Yeah, you're right Aaron. Thanks." I smile. "Anyways, how are you?"
"Um, i'm not feeling lonely, so that's something." He replies.
"Who's giving you company?" I ask.
"Well, at the moment. You are. But there's this girl.."
I grin. "A girl? Tell me about her."
"She's a freshman."
"Oh shit. You better get her fast, then. It's not illegal if you start dating before you turn eighteen." I say.
His face flusters. "No, I'm not looking for a relationship with Aph-"
"Holy shit it's Aphmau?!"
The red on his cheeks grew darker. "Uhm. Yeah. She's grown on me.. I want to ask her to prom."
"It's prom season already? Jeez, this year has gone by fast."
"Yeah, I know. I'm gonna graduate."
The sudden realization that after this year I wouldn't be seeing Aaron every day hit me. I hadn't realized just how far we were into the year.
"You're going to go off to college." I nervously laughed. "Who am I gonna go to for a calm conversation like this next year?"
"Yeah, all your friends are kinda crazy in their own way." He laughs.
I smile. "So, about Aph. I think you should ask her."
Aaron sighs. "I don't know.. do you think she'd say yes?"
"I don't think I know her well enough to tell. But I mean, I've seen you two together and how well you get along. I've seen the way you two talk to each other. I say there's over a 70% change she'd say yes."
Aaron nods. "I guess, if I can work up the courage, I'll ask her."
"Well, good luck with that." I say, standing up. "I wanna go find Laurence before the bell rings."
"Alright." He smiles, looking up at me. "I'll see you later."
"See you." I smile, then went to search for my cute brunette boy.
A/n!
