"And I hate you for your lies and your covers.
And I hate us for making good love to each other. And I love making you jealous but don't judge me. And I know that I'm being hateful but that ain't nothing. That ain't nothing. I'm just jealous. I'm just human. Don't judge me." - Beyonce'

JESSICA

"You look amazing, baby. Emilia Wickstead collection, correct?" Jordan asks me, pointing at my creme colored halter neck jumpsuit that I'm wearing. We're on a date at a nice restaurant waiting for our food that we ordered. He rented out the whole upper level here just for us. "Yes. How did you know?" I ask. "I know designer clothing when I see it. It fits you well." he compliments me. "Thank you." I say, smiling some. I never imagined dating outside of my race or being with a man who doesn't know a damn thing about the streets but here I am with an Arabian man who is worth so many billions of dollars all because he does legal business and nothing more.

"Is everything okay? You've barely sipped any of your wine and you've been a bit distant." he says, sounding confused. He doesn't drink at all but he doesn't mind me doing it. I had sex with Ant a week ago in his kitchen and we haven't talked since that day. I feel like a messed up person for having sex with Ant while I'm with somebody else. Ant and I are still married at the moment but we're still separated so I shouldn't have slept with him. "Can I be honest?" I mumble, taking a deep breath. He deserves to know.

"Of course. Did I do anything? Does it have anything to do with your family not accepting us being together?" he asks. "No. It's not you, Jordan." I assure him. "Then what is it?" he asks, seeming nervous like he just knows I fucked him over. "Last week when that guy was being disrespectful, why didn't you stand up for me? You didn't fight for me." I start. "Jessica, I can defend you in ways that don't involve violence or anger at all. A man of my status doesn't have to do any dirty work. I'm way too powerful and way too known to throw it all away in the heat of the moment. I have to think that way at all times. The situation was not worth the consequences." he explain.

"Okay." I say. "Is that what this is all about? I mean... what were you expecting me to do? Words aren't worth fighting or killing a guy we'll never see again. I don't result to violence and I told you that early on." he says. "I'm just used to that." I admit. "So, you're upset with me because I did not kick his ass?" he asks, cussing with me for the first time. Jordan has never cussed when he's talked to me. "No. Jordan, I fucked my husband." I say, watching him remain calm, shockingly. He just started laughing some. "You fucked your husband. That sounds weird." he says.

"I'm sorry." I say. He stands up then adjusts his tie. I'm watching in silence as he pulls money out of his wallet. He lays it on the table then clears his throat. "Enjoy your meal, Jessica. I'm leaving." he says, walking away. "Jordan... wait. I hope you can forgive me." I say. "Forgive you for what reason? Jessica, I'm the idiot for taking some married woman seriously just because she's gorgeous. Have a nice day." he says, continuing his walk.
