Eleven slicked her hair back, just like her long-lost sister had long ago. She missed Kali. She was inspired by her, kind of.
Mike stared in awe at the girl. If one word could describe how she looked, it was badass. He smiled at her in the mirror she was looking through. Eleven smiled back.
"Bitchin'" She recited. Mike laughed a small bit.
"Yeah, El, bitchin'." He repeated, chuckling. Eleven added some charcoal eyeshadow her respective father, Jim Hopper, bought her. She really liked the look, and so did her dad.
Eleven turned around to Mike, who smiled approvingly.
"You look pretty." Mike grinned.
"Pretty?" Eleven asked. She did not know of this word.
"Oh, that means, like, you, you look good. Attractive." He explained.
"Attractive?" El asked once again.
"Like the same thing as pretty."
"Oh." El stared straight-faced at Mike. Mike tried to smile. He had made it awkward.
"Pretty." Eleven repeated, poking Mike in the chest.
"Well, no, pretty is used for girls, like you. Handsome is used for boys. It means the same thing." Mike informed. El nodded.
"You are handsome." She smiled a little. Mike smiled too.
Jim walked in, grinning slightly at the two.
"Bitchin' today?" He asked his daughter. Eleven nodded, moving her hand away from Mike slowly. Mike stepped away from Eleven in a sort of respect.
"Come on, you two. It's time to eat," He chuckled, "I made your favorite!" Eleven's eyes widened and she grabbed Mikes hand, pulling him with her.
"Eggo?" She asked in curiosity.
"Sure thing." Jim smiled. He handed both of the kids their plates and they began to eat immediately. Jim appreciated El's love for the frozen waffles.
Both kids finished at godspeed. They looked up at Jim, who took their paper plates and threw them away.
"Well, kids, it's time for school. Get your teeth brushed, please. I'll be checking, El." He warned her.
Eleven would brush her teeth if Mike did. "Mike does too." She pouted.
"Mike doesn't have his." He argued slightly.
"Extra?"
"I can check," He said, defeated. Luckily, for Eleven, they did have a spare. Mike went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth with Eleven, who was happy to have him by her side. When they were both done, Jim took them to school. They usually got ready for school together these days.
It was a long ride from the cabin to school, but both of the kids didn't mind it. They liked long car rides together, where they got to goof off. A lot of the time Eleven messed with her powers, causing leaves to fly with them as they drove, animating a toy that Mike had, and more. They laughed and grinned at each other.
Even today, when Eleven looked like a badass, she was still warm-hearted and funny. And Mike liked that. He liked everything about her.
And vice versa.
