CHAPTER 3

I studied my side of the room. I had a few posters though not as much as Claire had. My posters were mainly just bands I liked. My bed sheets were normal they were plan black and my pillow case were purple. I had a picture frame that stored a photo of my best friend and I Paige. She was from my old school. In the picture we were both making funny faces. I tore my gaze away before I could cry, my begs sat at the end of my bed. Only one of them was still filled but all it had inside of it was a few things I'd need for classes tomorrow. My side of the room was simple. I didn't have anything special

I sat on my bed, and Claire sat on her's facing me.

"I would ask you if you wanted to go out shopping or something, but curfew will be in affect within an hour." She groaned obviously annoyed,

I looked at the time on Claire's alarm clock. It was 9.00 at night. Curfew as at 10:00. Not much different from the curfew I'd been following at my dad's house....

Dad!

I still needed to contact him.

Quickly I pulled my laptop out of my backpack and opened it up. Claire leaned back against her pillows. The sound of my fingers flying across the keyboard filled the empty silence in the room until Claire spoke up.

"Who you emailing? "she asked

"My dad" I answered.

She'd said something else but I was too focused to reply. I heard her sigh as I finally finished the email which I'd put together in the rush/ as I read it. I was proud of myself. It sounded quite convincing.

Dad,

I am emailing you just to let you know that I have settled into my dorm room at Night's Edge. All my luggage has been sorted through, thanks to a new friend made. Can you believe it? I already made a friend. Her name is Claire Porter. We actually have a lot in common, And guess what? She's also my roommate.

I will email again soon.

Love,

Caitlyn

I closed my laptop. As I did Claire's lava lamp clicked off from beside me.

"I'm going to hit the hay. Night." she yawned, disappearing under her covers

I looked around the room. There was nothing else to do so I slid my laptop back into my backpag shutting off the lamp next to me. I heard Claire snoring. So since she was asleep I got up out of bed and changed into a pair of sweatpants and a black tank top that I'd managed to snag from my dresser. Once I was done tying up my hair I crawled back into bed slid under my covers and buried my face in my pillow.

That night I slept better than I ever had.

After I showered on the morning I groggily trudge out of the bathroom, not even that shower had woken me up. Claire who had showered before me had just finished her hair and makeup. She backed away from the wooden vanity to give me a turn. Neither of our beds were made yet.

"All yours£ she said to me

I nodded staring at myself on the mirror. My black hair which usually fell in tight curls was wet and sticking to my shirt. My green eyes stuck out like a sore thumb against my pale skin and dark hair. I've always been really skinny and I'm only about 5"2. My figure is something I've always been self-conscious about I'm not curvy at all. I have a very undefined hour glass figure.
