I was silent for the entire walk back to my dorm.

The rain had only lasted a few good minutes. Now the sun was setting and it looked like a storm hadn't even happened. Students hung out in the trees, in the garden, on the steps to the school. it would have been a completely normal scene if everyones eyes were normal. I passed by Verna and Thorne. They were sitting on the steps to my dorm.

"Hey, Caitlyn! Verna and I were just talking about you. Wanna hang out later?" Thorne asked grinning at me. Verna waved.

I shrugged." I'm not really in the mood guys." I muttred then traipsed up the steps.

"Alright well if you change your mind..." his words faded as the doors to my dorm shut behind me.

For a second there I thought that Aaron and I might actually start to get along. But then something happened that changed everything. Why was Ahe so secretive about it?.i wasthe one who'd been pushed by....whatever pushed me. not him. If he knew something about what happened. I had every right to know about it. I wasthe one who had gotten hurt, not him.

Aaron gave me the biggest headache I've ever had. I leaned against the doors for a second and sighed. No mater how much I wanted to be mad at him, I just couldn't.... and I don't know why.

As I walked over to the staircase I passed by the lounging area in the room to my left. The same girls as always were there. Claire calls them Trolls because they live "Under the Bridge." All that means is that they never go up to their dorms and they always stay downstairs. They giggled and threw popcorn at each other as I trudge up the stairs.

I'm so tired of looking at this medieval gloom. Everything is so dark and scary here, with the stone walls and the wooden chandeliers and the gaslights. I'm tired of everything right now. I just need a good nap. I just need to sleep forever.

When I unlock the door to my room and push it open, I hear Claire snoring. She's already passed outon her bed with a face mask plastered all over her skin. She fell asleep on her back with cucumbers on her eyes. I cant help but giggle. Seeing her like that completely lightned the mood.

When I set my bag down on my bed I notice a note on my pillow. Jeez what is it with writing letters here? Don't people text? Claire must have brought this in for me. the envelope was white with black lace boarding the edges.

I tore it open then red the letter inside.

Caitlyn~

Once you finish reading this, come out to the balcony of your dorm. Don't make me wait past curfew

~Cass

I blushed I could see him rolling my eyes and smiling as he wrote the last part. The balcony must be at the end of the hall. I couldn't imagine where else it would be. Still nothing can distract me from being happy about seeing Cass. He'll take this huge weight Aaron left off my shoulders. I can tell him about what happened and he'll be there for me as much as he can. Quickly I threw the note in the waste basket by the vaniety and headed out the door. I was planning on replying to paiges email that she sent me yesterday but that can wait a little longer.

I walked down the long winding corridor following the purple carpet to the arched windows at the end of the hall. Once I got there, I realized that what I thought were arched windows were doors. I pushed them open and the red drapes on either side of me blew past me.

The balcony was so pretty.the platform was a dark limestone and so were the barriers. On either side of me were two stone gargoyles peering out into the sunset. And at the edge of the balcony leaning over the limestone railing was Cass I couldn't help but smile.

I walked up to him and tapped on his shoulder

He turned around and when he saw me he smiled. "I didn't think you'd make it." He informed messing up my hair. I giggled."I'm glad you're here."

I met his eyes."I wouldn't miss it for the world," I gushed.

I could see his cheeks getting red. For such a hardass he looked cute when he blushed. We just stood there staring at each other for a moment and leaning against the edge of the balacony as the sun set. Then he finally snapped out of it, cleared his throat and stood straight up. I watched as he reached into the front pocket of his leather jacket.

"I got something for you." He whispered.

"You didn't have to," I began,

Then he pulled it all the way out of his pocket.it was a long forest green fabric with a teal tint to it. He stretched the back of his head, then he took hold of my shoulders and turned me around so that my back was to him.

"I'm sorry of its wrinkled." He apologized.

Nefore he tired it into my hair,I felt him run his fingers through my curls. I shivered and closed my eyes for a second.once he started pulling a few pieces of my hair up in a half up, half down style. I felt my heart slow down a little. He tied it, and could almost feel his smile.

"I knew it would fit you perfectly."

I smiled and turned towards him.

"You really shouldn't have. How can I repay you?" I giggled.

He shook his head.

"Well you really don't have to. But you could let me take you out next weeked since I have to visit a few friends this weekend. We could go somewhere quiet. In fact I know the perfect place." He offered. I tired to ignore how he'd put an akward emphasis on the word friends. I was done stressing over the little things for today.

I nodded, I wasn't going to pass this chance up. Then just add to it all I figured, I have nothing to lose. So I stood on my toes and kissed his cheek.

"Of course you can take me out."
