When I stood up my knees shook and my fingers cramped up. I think the entire class heard my knees pop. I'd felt beautiful in my dress, and even more beautiful with the ribbon that Cass gave me in my hair but ever since Anabel called my name, I've felt awkward. I've been looking forward to this yet dreading this at the same time. My mind couldn't be made up about it but as I walked to the front of the classroom to stand in front of the wall of mirrors.i realized that I'd been more so dreading it rather than looking forward to it.

My legs felt like wood rubbing against each other and moving like a robot's legs would. When I finally stepped up to the front of the room. Everyone had their eyes on me. Sweat beaded in my hands as I clutched my laptop against my stomcach.

"Are you going to play your song with that?" Anabel asked me nodding at my laptop,

I smiled nervously and sort of tucked my laptop under my arm a little clumsily.

"Yeah" I squeaked out.

Anabel pointed a few feet to the left of me.

"There's an outlet that you can use there."

I nodded at her, and gave the class one last glance before scurrying over to the outlet. I fumbled with the charger to my laptop, then shoved the plug into the outlet as my laptop booted up. I heard the door squeal open behind me nut I don't bother turning around. It was probably no one I knew.

Until I heard his voice.

"I was told to give this to you." I could hear a piece of paper crumpling in his hands.

Aarons hands

There was a long pause after that and I held my breath. Anabel was probably looking at whatever he had to give to her. Then she let out a yelp,

"Oh yes thank you Aaron."

I was trying to focus on scrolling through my playlist but Aaron's voice distracted me way too much. I held my breath.

"You're welcome."

"You should stay for a bit. Caitlyn is one of my best students and she;s about to dance. Would you like to stick around for a bit? I could write you a-"

"No!" Aaron snapped then quieted his voice a little and calmed hikmsefl down before speaking again.",,,,That wont be necessary. I need to go."

"You have Shay right? I'm sure he'll be fine with it. Now stay." Anabel pleaded with true sincerity in her voice.

Aaron has Alchemy? I asked myself.

Though that was the least of my worries right now. If Anabel didn't shut up I would have to suffer through 5-7 whole minutes of Aaron having his gaze traine don me as I tripped over my own feet in front of the entire class. I have no idea why Anabel thinks I have so much 'Choregraphic promise'. I'm about as light on my own feet as an elephant.

Aaron sighed in defeat. It really wasn't like him to give up a fight like that. He's been doing it a lot lately.

"Alright. I will stay." God he's so formal.

Finally after a few more seconds I was able to calm my nerves a little and find speechless Memphis may fire on my playlist even though my hands were shaking. I heard Aaron throw his bag onto the ground a few feet away from me and sit down against the wall. I tried not to look at him. Looking at him just makes it worse. I looked over at a redhead girl with burgundy eyes whose name I had forgotten.

"Can you hit play for me?" I asked nervously.

She nodded then leaned over. Everything seemed to go in slow motion those few seconds where I was still and waiting for the music to start playing. When it finally did, I felt my knees loosen a little. I had to move and I had to do it now.
